Poured on tap at the brewpub into a footed highball glass. Strange category. Listed as an Imperial Mild Ale.. whatever that means, comes across as more of a light drinking winter warmer to me so there you have it.
Nice chestnut appearance with hints of orange amber to the edges. No head presented light creamy tan head giving a good creamy thin collar.
Nose is as advertised. It is truly Nutella spread and hazelnut, that thick tasting sandwich spread smelling. Bready and thick. Not much else, but a real solid one single hit nose.
Palate is mild light in body as advertised, but rips of classic winter warmer like spices. Hot clove nutmeg maybe some cinnamon too. Sharp alcohol schnapps like warmth and winter warmer, sensing stomach warmth. Noticeably boozy but controlled. Mild whipped chocolate in the Nutella sense too.
A real fun one, and imperial mild? Well it does sort of fit I must admit, but the spice and chocolate angle really is nice and unique on this.
