Poured on tap in a snifter at the brewpub in Rehoboth.

Dark brown, almost black in color, with around 1/2" creamy dense tan head.

Earthy dark malty aroma, with caramel and chocolate hints. The garlic is barely noticeable in the smell in my opinion.

Very smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Full bodied but not heavy. Toasted malt flavor with some chocolate overtones come through in the beginning. Some peppery spice hints are there as well. The dried cracked black garlic the beer is named for appears in the back end at the finish, leaving a very pleasant taste that's well-balanced and not overpowering. As it warms the garlic finish lessens slightly with the malts being more prominent.

Overall a very enjoyable beer that I was glad was available during my visit to Rehoboth. It's a combination of flavors that work surprisingly well together. Definitely worth having while it's on tap.
