Everyone who can visit, should. Really fun tour, funny tour guide. Good atmosphere, though it does get busy. Really not overpriced, either.

I have a new respect and appreciation for Dogfish Head after visiting their brewery. I haven't tried a single Dogfish Head beer in over a year. However, when fresh, their brews are especially exceptional. I can also see how people like the 120 Minute now. A big boozy IPA like that should be consumed fresh. It's more malty than I like, unsurprising given the alcohol by volume, but it's really quite drinkable and delicious fresh. They do free tours and give you 4 free samples. The brewery looks almost like a college campus, there's a couple buildings, there were tents outside (there was some vinyl event going on), a food truck, people playing games including bocci ball outdoors. This is definitely the nicest, and biggest, brewery I've been to. The shop was also nice and they had some pretty sweet DFH merch. They also have great prices for growler fills and bottles.

So why 4 stars? They need to better organize their bar setup. Maybe hire another person or 2. The worker's don't seem to know how to use the register too well. I saw a couple of them standing by that thing for minutes at a time for single beer purchases and ask other's questions about how to do things. Not sure if they were new employee's or if their were new register's, but more importantly and much more frustrating was how long it took to get those 4 samples! It took over 1 and a half hours to drink about 16 oz's of beer. It should also be noted that some bartenders filled the sample cup halfway and other's to the brim. I don't like complaining about free things, it really is awesome of them to do so, but since it took 1.5 hours, we were unable to tour the tree house or do the self tour of the bottling line, as they were both closed by then. Half the people had already left by the time I ordered a 120 Minute IPA as well. The place was really jumpin' when we arrived. Also of note, the gift shop does not take Discover. They lost out on $60 because of that.

Either way, visiting the brewery left me with a very positive impression of Dogfish Head, and rekindled my interest in their beers. I have just 6 more words for you: Palo Santo Marron. Top notch beer.

By far the best brewery experience I've ever been privy too. They are continously inovating and schooled me on tons of things. Everytime I've made the pilgrimage it has become bigger and more fun. They're not afraid to "invest" read (waste) a lot of money on something to create a beer that will probably never return the investment, simply so people can taste what people drank 100, 500, 1000, 2000, or more years ago. Also their brew pub always has tons of beers on draft that are only available there until they're gone. If I was only allowed to go to one brewery/brewpub this is the one I'd pick.

Good selection of beer, tour is longer now since they take you outside to the bottling/packing warehouse. Employees in the bar area seems a little snooty. For example, even though I was trying to get service they seemed to ignore me and continue conversations with each other. When we were finally served and the person I was with had enough beer, they promptly came over to us said said sharing is not allowed and dumped the beer. The sample sizes were not that big but the guy told me something about Delaware law. It seemed odd, since Fordham / Old Dominion down the line were really laid back with bigger sample sizes and had an awesome family vibe, but whatever.

I love DFH brews and greatly respect/appreciate what Sam & Co. have done for the industry. So call me biased. But the brewery here is state of the art, and DFH has reinvested substantial dollars to "do it right" in every facet of the operation. Quality control is paramount, and the new bottling facility is a marvel of modern engineering. Truly the gold standard for the industry. Take the tour, if you get the's well done, and a true education.

As for the tasting room, I'm sure there are very good reasons why they cannot offer much more than the standard lineup here (as opposed to the brewpub in Rehoboth, where you can sample all of the experimental brews). In this regard, the brewery is more of the mass production factory, while the brewpub is the mad scientist's laboratory. But this is still a good spot to catch all of the special releases (WWS, DFH 120, Beer Thousand, Raison D'Extra). My recommendation is that you visit BOTH the brewery (in Milton) and the brewpub (in Rehoboth). They are both great spots, for different reasons. Enjoy!

Fun tour (paid if I recall) with lots of yummy beers to sample (for free if I recall).

Also, you can play bocce ball and cornhole outside while you drink and wait for your tour.

WORD OF ADVICE: Don't expect to arrive and go on your tour right away. A lot of people visit here, and you may need to put your name on the list and wait for the next tour with room in it for you and your party.

Arguably the best brewery in America, particularly in terms of the creative and innovative methods in which they brew their products. They offer tours inside the brewery that are very informative. The tour guides as well as other staff are very friendly and it seems like they are knowledgeable and passionate about beer. They also offer free tastings. Another feature I like is that they have a barbecue stand in which they sell food that is partly cooked with beer. I had a sausage on a bun that was delicious. Located in Milton, Delaware, a small little town with an any town USA feel to it. I will definitely visit again!

Located pretty much in the middle of nowhere between a bunch of crops field. Location is actually pretty cool with a bunch of bocce ball files, food truck, and some metal tree. Free samples plus great tour makes for fantastic experience. Shop was also very well stocked with a great selection of beers and growlers. I would drop by again if I am in the area.

Gets good marks for those wishing to try most of the DFH beers that otherwise easily available many places. Usual gift shop. Tasting area is large but largely nondescript. For people seeking to explore new beers or experimental is essentially boring...don't waste your time. Better chances at the Rehoboth brew pub. Despite well deserved reputation for the "off centered" and very high quality beers...there is a bit of the Stone "corporate" thing going on here. Guess we all have to grow up someday.
