Gets good marks for those wishing to try most of the DFH beers that otherwise easily available many places. Usual gift shop. Tasting area is large but largely nondescript. For people seeking to explore new beers or experimental beers...it is essentially boring...don't waste your time. Better chances at the Rehoboth brew pub. Despite well deserved reputation for the "off centered" and very high quality beers...there is a bit of the Stone "corporate" thing going on here. Guess we all have to grow up someday.

Fun, hip with great beer, and a strong sense of community - what else could you want from a brewery? Short answer: just more of it!

great brewery tour, as you get to see the legendary palo santo tanks. staff is friendly, beer is tasty (although just the regular offerings). lots of unique merchandise if you want to pick some up.

I recommend you also drive down to the beach (in the off-season) to the brewpub to try some experimental beers and/or vintage stuff.

Been to the DFH brewery several times, most recently for my wife and mine's 5th wedding anniversary and for the vinyl swap event in mid June. The thing that really stands out in the relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Underneath that however, is a staff that is extremely dedicated and knowledgeable in their craft. The tour is well worth your time, not only is it free, but you also get 4 samples at the completion. They have a nightly happy hour where the year round beers are 50% off, plus decent food at the food cart outside. The 25.3oz bottles are cheaper here than anywhere else as well(duh). Anytime I am passing through Delaware, I drop in, you should too.

I called in for the tour about three hours ahead of the 2.5hr drive down to Milton from NJ, and oh boy was I glad that I did.

DFH offers the usual brewery "perks"; free samples/samplers, an extensive gift shop, and a chance to be surrounded by beer geeks and lovers alike.

Perhaps we were lucky or maybe DFH is just that awesome, but my SO and I somehow ended up on a private tour with the one tour guide who was really knowledgeable on microbiology and the fermentation process, and even custom-tailored the tour to match our interests.

I can say without hesitation that this brewery tour was the first time in my life that made me glad to be a certified lab tech; kudos to the brewery for the extremely engaging and interesting insight to the behind-the-scenes of one of America's best IPAs--special mentions go to their amazingly creative staff and their awesome naming sense (I still chuckle about "Me So Hoppy" and "The Great Cornholio" at work)

Would definitely recommend beer geeks and novices alike to take the tour; even if you're not interested in the tour itself, there's plenty of other attractions around the brewery to keep you engaged (the treehouse, various beer art, beer-infused brats, and etc.)

I went here a few weeks ago, right before Memorial Day weekend. Before going, I looked up the tour times and got there right in time the 3 o'clock tour. We had an awesome tour guide, very knowledgable. The tour took about an hour and fifteen minutes, very in-depth and interesting. After the tour we got our (free) four beer samples from the probably 15 beers they had to choose. Food was available, we just didn't buy any.

Overall a great tour, highly recommend it! Free tour, free beer.

One suggestion: get there early, get your samples, then go on the tour. That way when you are finished you can drink more! We drank our samples after the tour and were feeling a little buzzed, so we didn't end up buying a pint from there.
