Poured from a 12 oz bottle with no freshness date to be found into a standard pint glass. The color is a cloudy brown color with orange edges as the light passes through. Creamy brown head that thins to swirls of bubbles.

The flavor is roasty and sweet with floral happiness. A bit of burnt toast sits on the sides of the tongue with crisp malt flavors. This beer is very drinkable and an excellent choice for large gatherings. I had this beer and it was a good beer to serve when you have a lot of different palates to please.

Pours a clear copper color with a white head that leaves a ring of lacing.

Smells of toasted malts with a touch of citric hops, but quite faint.

Tastes of the toasted malts and citrus, but the flavors feel muted. Sweet caramel and toasted bread notes lead off. This gives way to some citrus hops along with an earthy spiciness. Everything feels underdone and could use an extra kick.

Mouthfeel is medium with a smooth amount of carbonation.

Overall, it doesn't jump out at me and say this is even a pretty good beer. Again everything feels muted, and while there is nothing that turns me off to it, I can't see myself drinking another one.

Off the tap with one finger of head on a cloudy, dark straw colored body.
The aroma is citrusy and honey, pretty nice.
The taste is mildly sweet with a hop spicy middle.
It's smooth with moderate carbonation.
Here's a good beer with some unique flavors and still an everyday drinker.

Quite handsome brew in the Duvel tulip with the coppery color and sudsy foam. Adequate carbonation. Watery body with some spritziness on the tongue. A whiff of caramel in the smell.

Light maltiness and slightly caramelized, which seems to cover the flavors. Modest hoppy bitterness for the aftertaste. This one has been around for nearly 15 years, and it might have been considered a good beer once. A little winey, a hint of overripe fruit, and more caramel. Drinkable, but so underwhelming I'm pouring out the rest. This tastes like something Bayhawk would concoct. From the 12 oz can bought at AJ's Fine Foods in Chandler.

On-tap the the Crepe Place in Santa Cruz, CA. On to the beer:

Rather murky looking at first glance. With proper lighting, a much more attractive reddish brown color shines. Topping it off is an incredible display of cream and lace. The nose has an earthy aroma, and a subtle note of straight up hops. There is extra complexity in the taste than its aroma, though it doesn't neccessarily add to a better score in the category. Earthy notes strike, then some toffee, A snap of pine hits , as does vague citrus, solidifying the hoppy aspect of the beer. It's medum bodied with modest carbonation, and a mildly bitter and earthy flavor linger in the aftertaste.

This is a solid amber ale to wet the appetite. Warrants a try.
