This is my first Flanders Red, and I think I have a winner as my first. Reddish -brown with a giant fluffy off-white head. The smell is over-ripe apples. Tart but sweet.
Taste is more of the same. Tart and sweet.
Feel is very light and dry.
A very tasty beer and I'd imagine a good example of the style. Price is a little much but it could be nice treat every once in a while.

350 ml bottle poured into D'Achouffe tulip.

A- pours a dark ruby with a 2" khaki head. Some large strands of lacing and blotches.

S- mostly sweet and tart cherries some roasted malts.

T- damnit! Can't put my finger on that flavor? I will go with vinegar but its something similar. Followed by sweet and tart cherries.

M- light ody itch medium carbonation. Slightly acidic and semi-dry finish.

O- this beer did not disappoint. Only gave it 4's because it lacked some funkiness but still has that slight vinegaress taste. Will definitely get this again.

Poured into pint glass from 330ml bottle.

A- Beer has a dark ruby brown colour with nice head on the pour. Head dissipates very quickly though leaving good lacing.

S- Very complex aroma, a little shocking at first but quite pleasant. Balsamic vinegar, Rose Champagne, sour cherries, red grapes. All good.

T- The tartness of this beer hits first with more of the nose. Balsamic vinegar is what i'm getting mostly with good sour fruit notes as well.

M- Nothing crazy here, good carbonation and medium long finish.

O- Wow, I'm fairly new to the style but I can tell i'm a big fan of flanders reds. Nothing like a nice complex beer to finish the day.

Pours dark brown, with red and purple in the light. Not much lacing from the big tan head, but it sticks til the end.

Smell is plum and grape tartness, almost sour and winey. Also kind of champagne like, some wood is present. Also reminiscent of a lambic.

Taste is quite different from the smell. Where there is plenty of sour and tart, the flavor is more sweet and tart. Grapes and cherries, sweet sparkling wine, with a nice balancing super tart finish.

Textured lively and bubbly. Super light and smooth, reminds me of Stella Rosa. A nice dry finish to go with the tart.

What a strange but awesome beer. One must try this for the experience. Taste is almost in mirroring contrast with the aroma. Almost not beer, but leans towards lambic and fruit beer.

330ml bottle poured in to a Corsendonk glass. Best before 12/05/2013 stamped on label.

Very deep rubycolor. Light tan, two finger head forms, but disappears pretty quickly. left a minimal bit of lacing, though.

Dark fruit and a nice sourness.

Like drinking a tart cherry soda. Very rich in flavor. I'm also getting a hint of chocolate. The sour is up front and does linger for quite a bit, but the finish is sweet overall.

Champagne-like carbonation and a smooth and clean finish. Tannic, yet there is a minor syrupy feeling. Medium bodied.

I haven't fully delved in to the world of sours, but I have had this one numerous times. An absolutely delicious beer that is totally

Poured from a 550ml bottle at the Playground in Santa Ana, CA. Reviewed from notes.

A- Pours a finger high white head. Ruby red color. Good carbonation.

S- Red wine and alcohol smells.

T- Tastes like a sour champagne. Hoppy and delicious.

M- Light bodied, vinous and finishes astringently.

O-First Flanders Red. I like it a lot.

Pours a ruby red-brown with about one finger of head. Smells like tart cherries. Tastes like balsamic vinegar with cherries but, in a good way. It's crisp with a medium body mouth feel. The finish is tart and bitter that makes my mouth pucker. I will definitely buy this one again.

Bold, clear, reddish mahogany with a decent head and cap leaving behind some lacing. Ruby tinging in the light. Vinegar-astringence and some fruit: pear, cherry, apple. A slight whiff of that woody smell of a basement. Big, fruity and sour, this beer is a delicious mash of sweet and sour cherry and pear flavor. Some heat on the backburner. Puckering, smooth, dry, and a little spicy carbonation.

O: Loved it. Assertive, smooth and sour mash-up. Looking forward to trying more brown ales.
