The color is brown, with a beige head. Nice sour aroma. Taste is a bit vinous, but the sourness reminds me more of cider. After the initial sourness, the taste completely vanishes. Would have loved it, if the sourness lingered around more in the aftertaste.

Bottle bought in Brussels with March 19, 2014, best-by date, cellared 3-4 months, poured in a tulip glass. I don't know about old, but it's very brown -- mahogany, opaque, just a glint of ruby in the glass when back-lit. Nice layer of beige foam, few visible bubble, shaped like heavy cream. Nose of fruit and spice, cherries and raspberries, cinnamon, clove, vanilla, a little sawdust -- fabulous but not very assertive. Restrained taste of cherry, root beer, rather sweet, a relatively light lick of acid cleansing it all up. Mouthfeel is a bit thin up front, but mouth-coating on the finish, a bit unexpected and milky, not as quenching as I'd expected. Overall good, would take one again, beautiful to look at, a shade milder than I hoped otherwise.

Bought this flemish red from Beer planet in Brussels. Pours a dark ruby brown into my Rodenbach glass. slight fizzy head that dissipates quickly. Smells Vineous and thick, like a brown bread. Taste is mild oaky, sweet tangy and sour. Light Vinegar flavors. There is a slight breadyness apparent here, possibly from the wheat malt. Mouthfeel is tangy and spritzy, but not overly carbonated. Slightly thick, but not exactly buttery. There is a understated dryness in the flavor of this beer that lingers on the tongue. A very smooth and nice Flemish red that I feel very fortunate to have tried.

25 cl bottle purchased from Beer Mania for a few euros, split with Gabe and Kyle at Beachwood BBQ a couple nights ago, reviewed from notes on my cell phone, poured into my Delerium Tremens tulip glass
A-Dark reddish brown, thin 1/2 inch light tan bubbly and creamy head that lasts a few minutes, some retention, minimal lacing
S-Mild tart, cherries, brown sugar, toffee, roasted nuts, faint vinegar, roastiness, funk, and mild sweetness
T-Good amount of sourness at first with slight vinegar flavors, cherries and toasted sweet malts in the middle, where there is a good amount of caramel and bread, finish is also tarty with more fruits than before, warms up nicely into having a nicer rounded but mellow inviting tartiness, really like the flavor profile of this one
M-Sweet, tarty, and slightly dry mouthfeel, soft carbonation that was fitting, medium bodied, taste lingered nicely
D-Could have drank a good amount of this, light in alcohol for the style and then would help its drinkability quite a bit, still very smooth and inviting for a Flanders
I had never heard of this beer before but this was a great surprise, bought it originally only because I was a fan of its style, wish I would have gotten more now, a great interpretation of the Flanders from a brewery that I do not usually appreciate too much, recommended
