Nice clear red with a small head.

The smell starts off with a nice, natural cherry, mild oak in the background.

I like the sour cherry start. Oaky and creamy in the middle. Nice tart finish.

Nice, slightly unique version of the style. Would I drink again? Yup, and I'd probably buy one again being it didn't seem sweetened!

Let me first start by saying the cork claimed best by Sept 2011 and you can see what day it is. No signs of cork rot, leakage, or infection (ring around the top of liquid).

A: Deep ruby red clear color really awesome color and definitely gives up the intensity of the cherry.

S: Very cherry on the nose, tart cherry not sweet.

T: for being almost 3 years beyond its expiration date the taste was pretty strong cherry, you can tell the bottle is old but it's still good. Very tart cherry and acidic but pretty good.

M: easy to drink fairly smooth carbonation was very light and fine abrasive feel like soda.

O: for claiming to be good up to almost 3 years ago I'd say this is probably a good one to try, the cherry is very very strong and tart so if you don't like cherries you won't like this, cherry syrup or concentrate would be accurate for the intensity. I'd love to try one that claims to be within it's exp date.

Poured in a special Echte Kriekenbier glass - like a tall, skinny, stemmed vessel.

Reddish/purpleish in color.

It had a very thin, wispy, head that dissipated quickly.

Smell was cherries -very fruity in the nose.

Medium to high carbonation with a tart cherry note flavor very present. Some wood. A nice, pleasing, and refreshing sour beer.
