September is harvest time in the Yakima Valley where the bulk of America's hops are grown. Free State has freshly harvested Chinook hops air freighted to the brewery to add a special finish to this special harvest beer. It is complemented with Cascade "wet hop" flowers in the hop back, Cascade pellets in the kettle, and Chinook pellets in the mash and for dry-hopping. Pale ale malt and a variety of caramel malts lay a rich malt foundation and give this ale its deep red color. (O.G. - 16.4P/1066. Hops - 50 IBUs)

Amber colored clear with a off white head after drinking a few the head seemed to have a greenish tinge.
Great citrusy and piney hop aroma very pungent but not catty
Taste is hops some caramel malt undertones but then hops and then some more hops.I got some metallic notes and I am not sure if it was hop induced or from the keg or what.I have been drinking it for a week steadily it really grows on you.
What really amazes me about this brew is the pleasent hoppiness
with out the harsh bitterness commonly associated with some of the hop bombs out there.Get it while you can (October)
