This Imperial Saison (meaning a stronger, heftier version of the style) may or may not come from outerspace; but it uses Galaxy hops from Australia which provide the out of this world fruit aromas and flavors, including apricots and peaches transforming into mangoes. Deep gold in color, medium to full-bodied, Megatron Saison transforms the refreshing, light characteristics of the Brightwater Saison into a more contemplative, beefier, and complex strong ale sure to warm one on a chilly Fall evening.

Growler shared with Huhzubendah the other day, beer served in a tulip.
Beer is dark amber / yellow and a little hazy with a soft white head, decent retention, moderate carbonation and some nice lacing. Looks good.
Aroma is tea like with this sweet malty background, interesting aroma for a saison.
Beer is medium in body, a little heavy on the palate nad really sweet, strong, tea-like bitterness on the back that I assume is a mixture of grain acidity and some bittering hops. Good beer overall but not great. Perhaps this is an imperial Saison.

Growler shared by drabmuh. Thanks Matt.
The beer is transparent, appearing a dark golden color. Atop the beer rests nearly two inches of frothy, white head. Retention lasts a few moments, leaving some decent lacing on the glass as the head recedes.
The aroma offers tea, herbal notes, hops, sweet malt. Some saison characteristics are there, but this is a bit off the beaten path for a saison.
The flavor, while enjoyable enough, is also odd for the style. Buttery sweet malt with lingering lightly spiced tea. Floral hop presence throughout with just a hint of alcohol. The beer lacks any funk or yeast presence that makes this style so attractive. Sweetness escalates as I make my way through the beer.
The feel is fairly light on the palate. Moderately low carbonation.
Overall, this was ok. Easy enough to enjoy a pint, but a bit cloying beyond that. Unorthodox for the style, lacking some of my favorite saison characteristics. Worth a try.
