Pours a clear, amber color. 1/2 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of strong hops, citrus hops, hint of floral hops, sweet malt, hint of yeast, and sugar. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of citrus hops, hops, hint of pine, sweet malt, hint of sugar, and a hint of caramel malt. Overall, weak aroma, but decent blend and body.

12 oz bottle, best by 4th week of November. Pours clear golden orange with a big rocky white head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is piney, resiny, fruity, peppery hops.
The flavor is bready caramel malts with some fruity resiny hops that leaves a good sized bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied.
Overall, a solid IPA.

Single bottle picked up at Devlin's in Topeka, KS. Best by the first week of October. No ABV listed though I didn't detect any heat so I'm assuming 6% ABV? 59 IBUs. Poured into a pint glass straight out of the fridge.
Appearance: Pours two fingers of creamy, bubbly looking head. Lots of big bubbles. Nice lacing. An almost clear golden colored body. Looks ideal for quaffing.
Smell: Like walking through a hop garden. Lots of floral hops and citrus fruit. Lemon rind, fresh grapefruit, etc. Small amount of pine sap like bitterness. Negligible malt.
Taste: Sweet, floral citrus notes. More of the pine, though not offensively bitter with a soft malt backbone. The wheat's there though you have to look for it and the malts only serve to back up the hops. Very refreshing.
Mouthfeel: Thinner than what I normally get from an IPA. Carbonation is light but that really helps this beer and aids the drinkability.
Overall: The floral, hoppy nose is what this beer really has going for it. Total hop bouquet. Drinkability is high on this one. Perfect for humid, story nights in KS. The only thing holding back the beer is the thin mouthfeel. If it were fuller this would be an amazing IPA. As it stands though, another great beer from Freestate.
