Appearance: Obsidian black,, impenetrable to light, with a small tan head, which soon collapses, ultra-fine beaded lace, a slight dusting of foam.
Aroma: Dark fruit, coffee, cocoa, and a little burnt barley.
Taste: Opens with coffee, and roasted barley, the latter dominates the taste throughout, a bit of sourness later in the taste. There is a lingering, very mild bitterness at the close.
Mouth feel: Smooth and soft, pleasant, with a dry finish.
Drinkability/notes: A very pleasant, drinkable example.
Presentation: Packaged in a twelve-ounce brown glass Euro-style longneck bottle with a pry-off brown, served in a Chimay chalice.
Serving type: bottle
