Pours a two finger mocha head over a black body with just a faint trace of red aroud the edges. The head has decent staying power and leaves bits of lace. Aromas of roasted barley and coffee. A fairly robust roasted flavor mixes with a pronounced mineral character. Although, the mineral diminishes as it warms, becoming a bit softer around the edges with the roasted character taking over. Moderate hop bitterness. Full body. Smooth. The roasted flavor lingers long after the finish.
A nice Irish stout. The emphasis is definitely on the roasted side here with little else adding to complexity apart from some minor chocolate notesbut thats all right since theres plenty chew on as it is.
