On tap at Farrington's, Dublin.

Steady carpet of off white that rings over bright gold body.
Mango, canteloupe, resin and orange sherbet on the nose - bright and fresh.
Some baguette and more mango, then lemon peel, herb, evergreen and a hint of tangerine for hops.
Limoncello finish and stinging nettle linger.
Crisp, medium leaning light, some chew but lean.

Spanking fresh - keg tapped the same morning.

All sorts of citrus (though interestingly, not grapefruit) and a bit of aspirin in the linger. Too thin (less sticky and malty than PH Hop Head) and borderline ABV to call this a true DIPA. But a hop monster just the same.

Probably Ireland's first real IPA.

Amber pour, small white head turns into a thin film and stays like that for a while.
Thick smell of caramel and biscuit, overripe orange, peach, apricot, bit of pine, faint butterscotch, not tons of hops, but a bit more than the usual English IPA, so yeah, "Double", i guess.
Really really sweet taste, really malty, with buckets of sticky caramel, syrup, some biscuit and some butter too. A light jam-like fruitiness, mostly some peach. Grapefruit develops, some pine towards the end, grassy bitter hops, managing to cut off most of the sweetness.
Thus there's a nice fruity aftertaste, lingering Aspirin-like bitterness, with a (thankfully) acceptable dose of sweetness. Medium body, sticky with a buttery feel, medium carbonation.
A decent take on the style, tho it remains quite English. Wouldn't be totally inappropiate to think of it as a "dessert beer".

Poured into english pint.
Clear reddish-golden beer with 2-finger off-white head. Smell of orange, caramel and resiny hop, a bit stale, not very impressive.
On the contrary, taste is rich, orange peel, nettle, medicinal bitterness, syrupy, astringent. Very solid sample.
