Sought this place out while in Gettysburg. A bit off the beaten track, away from the downtown, but near the battlefield.

Walked in, really good selection was my first impression. 10-12 beers on tap. Ordered a sampler, $10, that included 8 of their beers. Healthy portions too. Included a wheat, IPA, Scottish and Stout among others. The Scottish Ale, sweet but strong, really stood out.

You can order the sampler size glasses to try the rest of their beers not included in the sampler...the barleywine (quite strong), black berry wheat (which tasted like a cross between a lambic and a sour ale), Heffe and an organic brown.

Good service. Typical pub food. $8 for the pretzels app was a bit pricey, but everything else on the menu was reasonable.

Only brewpub in town. Worth stopping at...next to the Best Western. You gotta love sipping on a beer, while looking over and seeing a table full of re-enactors right next to you.

For collectors, they sell pint glasses, t-shirts, hats and even paint prints of their logos. You can buy their beer in single, 6 and 12 packs as well.

I was frankly amazed by the food, which had a Germanic flavor. My wife and I stopped by after an Army sponsored seminar in Harrisburg, while driving home to Virginia. The food selection was good. Just about every food item was non-traditional. I had sausage with apple potatoes. My wife had pretzel chicken which she fortunately did not finish. I say this is fortunate because I got to eat the rest. The atmosphere is rustic lodge style. Nothing to brag about. Service was ok, but business was light. The locale is awesome. You are basically on the Battlefield. Oh, they also have beer you can take home. It's fairly decent beer as well. Overall worth eating at if in the area.
