This is a new entry for German O'Fests in Litchfield County, CT.

A--poured into a pint glass, very nice lightish orange color with some sheet lacing. Very little visible carbonation.

S--malty biscuit aroma, with a very faint grassy finish. Maybe some Saaz hops??

T--very good flavor, and more importantly right on style. Malt predominates, but is not too sweet or cloying, as I feel many of the US versions are. No real perceptible hops, although the faint hops in the nose also makes a very fleeting effect here.

MF--very soft and full at the same time. I agree with some others here that the body seems fuller than most of the competition.

D--a nice sessionable O'Fest, from the land which originated it.

I am very impressed by this O'Fest. I think that this one is closer to the traditional "fest" beers that are most historically on style. Don't get me wrong, but I tend to like this one better than the other German "main stream" O'Fests, which seem to be Americanized. Definitely grab this one if you like fest beers. I'm gonna try to get a case.

Steve

I got a 500mL bottle of this as a closeout deal at Woodman’s in Rockford, IL in early 2012 for $1.99.

Pours a cloudy, copper color with a slight head on it. The scent is mild with grassy grains and a slight bit of spices. Taste is malty but rather watery for an Oktoberfest beer. I found some spices in the taste but not as many as I was expecting. Good drinkability and decent taste but probably one of the weaker Marzen beers I have ever had before but seeing how it’s April, I won’t complain too much.

500 ml bottle served in a snifter, reviewed live:

A - Pours a semi-transparent orange/caramel color with 2.5 fingers of decently thick, white head. Retention is pretty good, and the head leaves a good bit of lacing as it recedes.

S - Toasted malts, caramel, light floral hops, and an almost mineral like note, though it's not intrusive. Seems fairly simple, but mostly inviting.

T - Toasted malts and biscuity yeast dominate the palate through the climax, where the floral hops notes take over. It's far more bitter than I thought it would be, and it throws off the balance. Simple and muddy.

M - Medium bodied, thick and smooth.

D - It's o.k., but I probably won't have it again. It's imbalanced and not constructed well.
