Bottle from Tesco Express. Medium golden body, clear, small creamy white head. Light malty aroma. Taste continues the malty flavors, smidge of sweetness, creamy feel, exceptionally smooth. Inexpensive too.

Let's consider this ale an adventure in Scotland's terroir.
The Isle of Arran has 4,587 in the last census.. which is fewer than it had in the 19th Century. Connected to the Glasgow metro by a ferry, Arran's geography is considered a microcosm for Scotland. Offering the full panoply of Scotland's diverse and splendid scenery, the Isle's main business is tourism... which of course explains this brewer founded in 2000. The brewery struggled and was sold in 2008 to a marketing company that has since got Arran's beers distributed widely throughout Scotland. I found it at a grocery store in Edinburgh. Scotland's terroir kept going by marketing.
And it is good thing because this is a well-balanced beer. While this Blonde is not much too Look at, Smells tell me the malts have been blended well. The mostly malt Taste gets just enough hops to keep the sweet in check and then the hops penetrate slowly; but never take over the show. It finishes semi-dry. The Feel is medium in the mouth with modest bubbles.
Completing the affect, the brewery owns a hotel and guest house on this vacation island. But of course, beer is 90% water and the water is pure. Think of it as making the most of a remote natural asset. Isn't that terroir at its best ?

Nice light orange somewhat hazy brew with a diminishing white head. Scent is grassy and floral with slight citrus and malt. Good flavor translation from the scent. Well blended and smooth with floral elements, some malt and sweetness. A bit too light on the bite if you ask me. Needs more carbonation, really watery. Ya know what, as this warms it really takes on a caramel character from the malt which I'm not digging.

I enjoyed this beer as I was on my way down from submitting Goatfell, the highest mountain on the aisle of Arran! So anything might have tasted good after that. But the beer was a lovely orange, with a light head. The mouthfeel was crisp and had floral notes. Definitely an enjoyable beer.

Bottled
pours a clear golden body, with very little white head. Not very intense in taste, old, easy to drink with a gentle hoppy bitter aftertaste. Not bad at all, not too special either
