This is an interesting new beer from Ithaca Beer Co.

Pours a clear light amber color with 1/2 to 1 finger head.

The aroma is relatively mild without any overly present hoppiness that you might anticipate from an IPA.

The taste has an initial hop bitterness that is moderate and not overpowering. A light malt sweetness is also present, along with a light flavor of hops.

I would actually sum this beer up as being a heavier version of an ESB (extra special bitter) with a bit more hoppiness and malt body than that style commonly exudes. Overall it is a nice beer, but not that impressive for the IPA style that it is claimed to fit into. I think this would be a good beer in the summer or after finishing a nice long run, but it does not wow with it's aroma like its running mate, Flower Power.

Poured into IPA glass; translucent orange-gold with a moderate fluffy white head that fades very slowly leaving tons of rings of great, tight lacing.
Smells very floral; sweet tangerine and hints of more tropical fruits as well.
Taste is relatively simple; lots of floral and citrus rind bitterness, with crackery malt and some herbal undertones supporting.
Mouthfeel is light, well-carbonated and wet.
Overall, I guess by the line "easy-drinking IPA" that this is Ithaca's entry into the whole "session IPA" fad, but the %abv seems high for that type of beer. Then again, I've never met any actual person who requires that any beer they want to drink more than one of be 3%abv, so this one is still very sessionable by my standards.

Poured a slightly golden amber with that slight orange hue associated with bigger IPAs.
The head was cloud like, white and long lasting.

The bouquet was all IPA, but not a powerful grapefruit/citrus/pine nose. Subtle, but completely evident

The initial taste was clean, crisp, dry and light It had that nice 'sting' on your tongue as I learned to love with hoppy IPAs. The finish was fairly long and very dry

I have been trying to figure out if I would add this to my list of session beers. The 6% abv might be slightly higher, but this one goes down so smoothly.

To me, its the baby cousin to Itasca's Flower Power

16oz jar glass...be burley

bright orange...the new ipa standard

bready with a pleasant floral pine scent and a whiff of yeast

cereal grains and bread followed by pine and the floweriest hop flavor that i have tasted in maybe forever. quite unique, almost lily-like and slightly perfumy

medium bodied with a slight sweetness. the aforementioned pine and flowers linger for a bit

i picked this up (justifiably) assuming that it was a session ale, based on the only info on the bottle being "easy drinking india pale ale". i took the first sip and my ears perked, thinking that ithaca had brewed the elusive full bodied session ipa...but then i looked it up and saw that it is 6%...not a big beer, but not a sesh by definition either. i see what they are trying to accomplish, and it comes off like an older style east coast ipa but just a touch lighter in color/maltiness-sort of a hyrbrid substyle. this was quite drinkable, and i would recommend trying one, if for no other reason but to taste the somewhat rare floral hop profile.

Poured into a pint glass.

A- Pours a gold straw-like color with a really nice two finger head. Carbonation bubbles are coming to the top and some nice and sticky lacing. Looks pretty nice.

S- The aroma on this beer is very reserved. Some subtle earthy and pine qualities that are very pleasant. Just a bit of citrus fruit and a very slight hint of malt. Understated but nice.

T- The earthy and pine characteristics dominate throughout. The little bit of citrus fruit that is present in the head is not present here, although there is just a bit more malt here. Low but reasonable and appropriate hop bitterness for this IPA.

M- A fair amount of tingling carbonation. Not thick by any means but has a pleasant amount of body and goes down impressively smoothly. Incredible easy-drinking and refreshing IPA.

O- An incredibly accessible American IPA that certainly lives up to the "Easy-Drinking" claim on the label. Certainly not the most flavorful IPA and one that hop heads will probably be disappointed with. However, this should appeal to the masses and could convert many a beer drinker that has sworn of IPAs.

Cloudy orange brew, little head.

Yeast and citrus aroma, not unlike a tripel or a citrusy wheat beer.

Bitter, citrus, a hint of banana yeast, and a dry hay-like flavor. Tastes like a decent white or Belgian IPA.

Lively with moderate sting; very dry.

This is a decent, refreshing IPA. It's not outstanding, but it's a little different.
