This is a decent Berliner-weisse. Seems to be kind of a grainy tone to things though. The sour and tart seems mild and is in no way abrasive. Naturally, I could deal with a sharper amount of it all. It does seem to be more pronounced as it warms up. Aas it is, it's a pretty decent example of the style.

It certainly has the cloudy, pale gold color I would expect, and while it could be a little more of the white gold color the best tend to showcase, it's close. The head is bone-white and seems to be both fluffy and a bit spritzy. It almost reaches one finger and falls to a strong layer topping the beer and laving pretty good lacing behind.
It is sour and tart in the nose, though not with quite as much pungency as the greats. Some pale malts and dry wheat notes keep it in a good range for the style.
The sour, tart and bitter hit the back of the tongue more strongly than one might expect, and it hits the tip of the tongue pretty sharply as well. I would prefer for the flavor to last a bit longer, but it fades just a little sooner than it should. There's a little linger in the back, and it puckers a little before softer notes come in.
It's soft and fluffy on the tongue but not exactly crisp. The acidity hits nicely but it a touch brief.

Appearance: Perfectly clear wheat gold. Head start bright white, lively, loose, and bubbly. Drops to a nonexistent cap and collar almost instantly. Solid but not aggressive carbonation.

Smell: Mild pale bready malt coupled with a decent amount of wheat and a soft lactic tartness. Hints of lemon, grass clippings, and a mild hint of citrus. A touch of apple skin and some vague fruity elements. Light and balanced.

Taste: Some lemon juice and zest. A touch of grass with some very mild earthy elements. Malts carry a nice soft wheat presence with a mild lactic edge. Clean with some slight pale malt sweetness and a touch of snappy cracker. Some hints of apple and a very very mild hint of raw honey.

Mouthfeel: Light body. A touch dry. Light to moderate carbonation.

Overall: Summer road trip approved.

Clean and easy take. Just tart enough. Typically solid Ithaca "sour."

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass.

Appearance: The body has a light golden yellow color with some carbonation. It was topped off with a small white head which fades out quickly and completely.

Smell: It has a light aroma of pale cereal grain and sour dough bread.

Taste / Palate: The flavor has some mild sour notes blending with a light wheat malt notes. It finishes with a very light tart/sour and semi dry character. The feel is light to medium and lightly seems carbonated.

Appearance: 1 inch head, straw yellow in color, clear, high carbonation

Smell: honey, wheat, pear, and yellow apple

Taste: wheat, pilsner malt, faint pear and lemon

Mouthfeel: high carbonation, super light bodied, sweet with a moderate amount of tartness

Overall: I really enjoyed this one and think it is one of Ithaca's better beers. Super sessionable. It tastes like a good pilsner mixed with a Berliner Weiss. Nice, light, and refreshing.

Pale golden straw color pours with an effervescent white head, nice looking Berliner Weiss here folks. Even fine speckled lacing looks great poured into a flared chalice. Aromatics bring out tart lemon notes, slightly chalky yeast components, and some yogurt like lactic notes combined complexity into a refreshing summer release from Ithaca brewing company. Clean bright tartness, refreshing chalky yeast component, lacks any off putting phenolics which is a good thing. Lemon, tartness would work perfect with some cilantro spiced pico de gallo mahi mahi fish tacos. Mouthfeel finishes dry like the backend of the sour scale of a Warhead/sour patch kid candy, carbonation is moderate rolling cleanses the palate with the nice bone dry finish. Overall a quality version of an under served style, more summer refreshers slightly sour and funky works for my palate.

Quite nice. Clearly well-brewed. There are no unpleasant off notes. The malt comes through the lemony tartness. I might personally like it a touch tarter and more effervescent, but it seems more readily accessible (if Berliner Weisse can be) as it is. Tart and refreshing. Worth trying.
