Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a SA pint glass.
A: Pours a very light, golden yellow color with almost no head. Slightly hazy, and no real carbonation to be seen.
S: Smell is definitely of apricot. No hops at all, or other spices. Just that sweet apricot smell.
T: Sweet apricot, somewhat syrupy. No other strong malt or hop flavors. The fruit is a little dull, buttery even. Has a somewhat unpleasant aftertaste.
M: This fruit/veg. is light-medium bodied, which might please some, but I wouldn't drink this for its richness anyway. Whenever I think it's crisp, which it is, I can't call it refreshing.
D: I was good to try one and call it a day with this brew. I don't know if I'm not an apricot fan, but I'm certainly not a fan of this Ithica offering.
If it were an apricot I wanted, I'd think twice before getting this again. Particularly if there were a Dogfish Head Aprihop Wheat or Seadog Apricot available.

I'm a major sucker for fruit beer, so I had to try this one. It was my first time at a local bar, and I was waiting for my aunt and uncle to meet me after work, so I ordered this beer with my fries. It was sweet but not too much so- in other words, you could definitely still taste the beer in it. There was a perfect blend of sweetness and yet a tiny bite to it. It was very smooth and amazing when ice cold! If I came across it again I'd definitely go for a second taste.

Appearance - Pale yellow, might be a touch of orange. Hazy, nearly opaque. Very little head.
Smell - Very noticeable bright apricot aroma. Otherwise, vague pale malt.
Taste - Perhaps a little less distinctly than the aroma, but obviously apricot flavor highlights this beer. Otherwise, rather plain tasting pale malt.
Mouthfeel - Very light. Crisp.
Overall - I haven't tried many (if any) apricot beers. If nothing else, this beer demonstrates that the flavors can work together. Probably better, too.
