Poured from bottle into a glass stein.
A - pours a dark amber with a fluffy tan head. This is one of the darkest amber ales I have seen.
S - nice citrus hop smell with hints of brown sugar and caramel.
T - strong caramel/toffee flavor up front supported by a significant amount of grapefruity hops. Finish is quite bitter with a lingering bitterness.
M - carbonation seems higher than average. Medium body. A bit of a slick coating effect.
D - quite drinkable for the ABV. I would find it hard to get tired of this.
This is another solid beer from Ithaca and probably their best easily available beer (Flower Power availability can be a bit spotty). I especially enjoy Cascazilla with food; it goes well with beef and pork.
