Viggo brought this one over. thanks eric!

750ml bottle topped with a bronze wrapper. sampled march 5/2011.

pours pale brown with small cap of dense dark than head. the head drops quickly and leaves spotty lace.

aroma is good. earthy and woody. dark fruit - date, plum, raisin. hint of alcohol. sweet caramel and toffee. bit of molasses. white bread and biscuit. bit of cracker. hint of chocolate.

taste is nice. dark chocolate. earthy and woody. date, plum, and raisin again. sweet caramel and toffee. bit of molasses. white bread and biscuit. bit of cracker. light alcohol. low bitterness level. bit of coffee. faint belgian yeasty spice. an american take on a quad, blending in some brown/stout aspects. as it warms more of the dark fruit comes out, making it lean a little more back toward belgium.

mouthfeel is good. medium body. slightly prickly medium-high carbonation.

drinkability is good. nice balance. good depth. not your typical quad, but interesting none the less.

Shared with many people at my cellar cleaning.

Light fizzy head, semi clear dark chestnut brown color.

Nose nice molasses and barrel, toasty nutty hazelnut, rummy, little toasted coconut, brown sugar.

Taste similar, sweet brown sugar, candy malt, little syrupy malt, some warming booze, mild chewy earthy spicy hops, sticky and syrupy. Finish is hot booze, more earthy spicy hops, syrupy caramel molasses like candy, etc.

Mouth is fuller bod and syrupy, nice popping carb.

Overall not bad, but not as special as I expected it to be, a bit too sweet and sticky overall, so def could have improved.

Thanks to JLindros for sharing.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear brown hue with a thin mocha head.

S - Aromas of sweet malts, light plums, faint alcohol.

T - Taste is tons of sweet malts, cardboard, caramel.

M - Mouthfeel is sticky, syrupy.

O - Overall this beer was far too sticky to be enjoyable.

3 years in the cellar... now is your time, 12, now is your time...

Pours with a surprisingly healthy 1cm of creamy, tan head, over an opaque ruby to brown body. Head fades to thick ring that hangs around forever.

Aromas are full of sweetness and fruit. Deep, rich sugar-bread, which includes cinnamon spice, molasses, raisins, cherry, and a touch of orange spice.

Mouthfeel is insanely smooth, creamy, and rich. Tons of sweetness in the flavor, including red licorice, plums, cherry cola, milk chocolate, and oak. Darn tasty.

Maybe it's been too long since I reviewed a Quad, but I don't see how this averaged out in the 80's... I think this pup is pure 90's quality.

Thanks to Tieman for sharing this one at his tasting.

Batch E!020.

Pours a murky orange-brown with a foamy beige head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, and dark fruits. Taste is much the same with a mild spice bitterness with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with some nice aromas and flavors.
