From a bottle into a glass at Teresa's Next Door for their Ithaca night.
A- Lebleu looks great with just the sparkling white champagne frothy head with legs. I've never seen this much retention in a wild before. The liquid itself, a mix between red, purple & blue. The foam did not manage to stick to the glass.
S- A fine line between fruity and funky, I think the fruit is winning. Blueberries and blackberries. Under that a musk of faint funk from the brett. While the berries are not a blast in the face, they win the show and don't smell entirely fake.
T- Blueberries and the other berries are up front but are somewhat faint compared to the nose. Sweet, somewhat medicinal. Some light young funk and a small pucker, not balls to the wall sour, some acidity. That's all I really get from this.
M- Sparkling, very crisp and a bit overly carboned. Not a very smooth ride, there is some bumps. A step below medium with a acidic vibe to it. Perhaps to much champagne yeast? A good mix between sweet and sour on the mouth, vice versa.
D- This is easy enough to do a bomber to the head, but I'll share mine with my friends when I go on vacation in a bit. I got the point of this beer fairly quickly, not complex, but spot on for a American blueberry sour, the label does not lie.
I've heard the base beer for this is 'Brute'. I can see maybe one of the three years of beer in here (07,08,09) being that, but it cant be 100%, Brute has not been out that long.

E!012:
A: Orange hue, a deep golden, with a nice white head that sticks around for a while. S: Blueberries, lemon, funk, some tartness. Some much funk, musty basement. T: Wow. Just a nice tartness, blueberries are still there after these 6 years. Lemon zest and a huge funk. M: The champagne yeast gives a pillowy softness. O: This is my white whale. Unbelievable funky sour. Just beautiful beer. I wish there were more

Thanks to JLindros for sharing. 2010 vintage
A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a crystal clear copper hue with a thin head that fades to leave light wisps and a light halo.
S - Aromas of big big funk, horse blanket funk, light floral fruit skins.
T - Taste is similar to the nose, loads of funk, bright horse blanket. Nice tannic blueberry skins, powdery blueberry candy.
M - Mouthfeel is brightly carbonated, crisp.
O - Overall this beer was rather nice. Loads of funk, nice light blueberry skins, pleasant.
