Was able to have a growler picked up at the brewery!!!

A- Looking at this beer reminds me of unpasteurized cider; cloudy amber orange in appearance with plenty of carb bubbles quickly rising to the top!!! Starts off with a beautiful dense head that fades to a skimming with impressive lacing...

S- Sweet citra aroma with what I can only describe as a faint straw aroma presumably from the brett. Really a very clean and balanced smelling beer.

T- The aroma leads perfectly into the overall flavor of this beer, it seems so natural and flowing, if that makes sense. Bright flavors with some spice mingled amongst it all, the single hop is a nice touch and I feel adds to the cleanliness of this beer.

M- This beer is a pleasure to have in my mouth, LOL. silky smooth with a medium body that sits on the edge of oily and dry.

D- If only this beer was year round I can't stop drinking this one, so maybe it's good it's not year round, but please, please, please bring it back again. Outstanding!!!!

Thanks to dmeadows for the growler!! Wow!

Brilliant orange red with a solid two inches of off white foam on top. Spotty, patchy lacing as well. Dank, citric hops lead the way. Resinous and a bit spicy as well. Smooth caramel background along with a mellow phenolic yeast too.

First sip brings a medley of citric hops upfront with notes of pineapple and spice. Floral touches meld in with caramel malt notes. Flows down a great mix of earthy, slightly funky yeast tones that wrap around the Citra hops beautifully. Just a stellar IPA.

Mouthfeel is perfectly creamy and smooth with great carbonation. Overall, an incredibly tasty and easy drinking brew. Really happy to have had the opportunity to try this and hope it's brewed again soon, its a winner!

Reviewed from notes. Consumed last fall out of my Maudite Tulip.

A- Glowing Amber with a nice white head. Lots of head and lacing. The beer is quite beautiful.

S- Sweet and piney. Mostly getting citrus/lemon, hops, and funk. The funkiness is there, but not like a crazy wild.

T- Lights the mouth of with tastes of lemon, pinnapple, and mint. The brett can be tasted, but is just the right touch.

M- Excellent. Nice and refreshing. Not too heavy, but still has plenty of complexity.

D- Very drinkable. Drank almost a whole growler of this stuff by myself on a Friday night. The funk has just the right subtleness.

Need more Super Friends... really pushes the envelope, and is a great beer.

On tap.

A - Amber, cloudy colored with a thick cream colored head. Lots of sediment, even out of the tap. Lots of lacing and excellent retention.

S - Superb smell. Apricots, oranges, and other fruity, citrus notes. Little bit of tart with Brett and a bit of funk.

T - Boom! Citra is all over this one. Intense, sweet hoppy flavor with very little bitterness. Then a good amount of funk and sourness. Great mix of malt and sweet with that funk makes this an amazing combination. I don't give out 5's a lot, but this one gets it.

M - Oily hops and brett makes the tart stick around a bit in the mouth, which is great. Good amount of carbonation.

D - Wish we could get this anywhere.. I've gone to many Ithaca events and it's never there. Was just happy to get to try it (many times throughout the night)

Poured a nice clear copper with a small head small lacing.
Smell is a funky medicinal thing and a huge tangerine rind like thing .
Taste follows the nose but the brett is much more pronounced but melts well with the citrus hops.
Mouthfeel is nice light on the carb but may just be the growler . Finishes very dry .
Wonderful brew that I could drink a boat load of.

I wasn't sure that I would be able to snag this beer before next summer, but alas it was on tap at the Tusk in Syracuse.

Appearance:
The beer was a rich dark amber color with a sparse head, but ample carbonation. I was poured a 10oz serving of this beverage into a thick, rolled rim, glass mug (not chilled). The beer is more rich in complexion than I expect for most IPAs, which makes me think that it might be more of an intensely hopped amber ale.

Smell:
This beer is all about the hops. There was a gingery, piney bitterness and a citrus backed sweetness that exploded all over my olfactory. It makes a very intense first impression and needless to say this beer can hold its own as an IPA. I wasn't getting the alleged belgian yeast funkiness coming through the hops, but definitely a pungent, sweet, and hoppy beer.

Taste:
Outstanding, I should have gotten my growler filled when I had the chance. This is a tremendous combo and the Belgian characteristics imparted onto an already solid IPA adds remarkable depth to the flavor profile of this beer. I finished 4/5ths of my beer before my meal even came. Likewise, the beer that was left did not overpower my meal either (an added bonus because a strong IPA typically lends too much bitter for a meal pairing). I will seek out this beer again before it's gone and I am glad for a break from the heavy beers of winter.

Mouthfeel:
Not overly bitter and no gross, lingering aftertastes. It was smooth, clean, and medium to full bodied. There is a lot going on with this beer, it took more than a sip to know what it was about. The beer presented pungent, citrusy hops followed by a rich malty sweetness and belgian funkiness. I am appreciative of a beer with a dry finish, it definitely had me coming back for more (which is why so much was gone before my meal).

Drinkability:
Absolutely delightful midday ale that was both complex and moderate. It was more on the expensive side, yet still more affordable than a comparable trappist on tap. I would be delighted to try this beer in a large 750mL bottle, but it was outstanding on tap. This beer is smooth, balanced, and redeeming for those that appreciate Belgian-IPA hybrids, I would definitely try this beer if you are hesitant in your decision.

A - Pours clear light amber into my tulip glass with white bubbly head that has decent retention and pretty nice sticky lacing.

S - Big hope aroma, pine, resin, and more of a hay like grassy aroma. Citrus is present and is more lemon and a touch of orange. A touch of musty funk is also there.

T - Big huge hop presence. Citrus all over the place, lemon, grapefruit, lime, and orange. Pine/resin hops and tropical fruit combination followed by a bit of honey and spice with a little bit of sour funky bitterness on the back end.

M - Creamy and smooth, great balance between body and carbonation.

D - Really unique IPA and super delicious. Almost low enough to be a session beer at 6% ABV. Ithaca beer co. is always great.

i took a drive to sheridan drive consumers when i seen it on there website. $22 a growler. listed as 6%.

at fridge temp, poured into a SA perfect pint glass. pours a beautiful hazy golden orange, nice hues of red in the light. big frothy slightly off white head with great retention. tons of sticky lace.

wow! big doses of resinous, pungent hops in the aroma. lots of lemony citrus, pungent aromas of raw freshly picked hops, floral, piney, its all there. behind all the hops, bits of musty funk come out more as it warms and mingle with the hops nicely.

very pungently hoppy bitter taste. lemon citrus, pungent pellet/ fresh picked cone like hoppiness. lots of ripe tropical fruitness, floral and piney as well. a light mustiness is present on the backend, but it is suddle. light acidic, back of the mouth sour on the finish. brett and the citra hops meld so nicely.

so resinous and bitter, no amount of touth brushing or cheese eating is going to get that out of your mouth, medium bodied, ample lively carbonation and just a light acidic sourness. super smooth and velvety, affects every part of your mouth.

so flavorful and oh so drinkable. im so glad i got a chance to taste this, kinda wish i got 2 growlers, great beer! by far one of the best ipas ive had.
