Pours a deep copper with a two finger head that settles nicely leaving big globs of foam down the side of the glass, aromas of pine needles and some nuttiness.Taste is a hop heaven piney and resiny with nutty malt backbone very dry makes you want more.A soapiness in the finish may keep the drinkability a little lower but if you like hops you'll like this for sure, well made and highly drinkable well done.

Pours a pale, golden color, straw in some spots and light amber in others. Murky and translucent, then topped off with a white cap that settles to a quarter-inch and shows some decent staying power. Nice, drippy lacing is left near the top of the glass.

Flower Power, like the name might imply, is powerful and fruity - loaded with citrus, huge pineapples, apricots, and maybe some mango. Light hop resin sits in the background along with some light pine, but stays secondary to the citrus overload. I've heard people compare this beer to Zombie Dust, and I see where they're coming from. This citrus isn't quite as powerful here (and neither is the rest of the hop profile, for that matter), but it's drawing some slight resemblance.

Somewhat surprisingly, the first thing I notice on my palate are the hops, and they exhibit a mildly spicy, white-pepper flavor, something that I wasn't picking up on in the aroma at all. Some resinous flavors come through and the bitterness smacks your tongue quickly and all at once. Slightly oil and leafy. Lemon and orange zest play a big role in the flavor, as well as light apricot and pineapple. The palate isn't picking up the fruit as much as the nose, but it's definitely there, and certainly more noticeable in the latter half of the sip.

The bitterness is pretty powerful and probably helps tone down the fruit at first. Sweetness from the malt is there, giving off a light, sweet bread flavor. Other than being a backbone for the huge hop profile, it doesn't do much else. The aftertaste is full of a peppery bitterness, a little fruity pith, and some dry, bready malt. Maybe even a little ashy as the beer gets warmer. Medium bodied, a little stickier than expected, decent carbonation.

I can see why people might substitute this beer for Zombie Dust where it's more readily available. Similar in many ways - and although I prefer ZD much more, this beer is still pretty damn delicious. If it was available in my area, I'd probably drink it all the time. Goes down easy and gives you a nice fruit, bitter hop kick.

A: Golden with a somewhat good clarity. Produces a good head stand with a rocky, off-white head that has good retention.

S: It smells like a bag of hops with a strong hops aroma of citrus and tropical fruit being mostly lemon, lime and pineapple with some papaya. There is light malt sweetness and a light flower alcohol aroma as well. Some of that grassy, herbaceous aroma from the hops. One of the best smelling IPA on the market.

T: Great hop flavor dominates with a strong citrus and tropical fruit hops flavors and a very strong hops bitterness. The malt is there with a just enough to clean sweetness to support the hops. The finish is dry and the aftertaste is of citrus and hops bitterness. The balance is fairly bitter but not as aggressive as some IPAs.

M: A medium-light body with moderately-strong carbonation.

O: Still one of my hands down favorite IPAs. The hops aroma and flavor is outstanding with a ton of West Coast citrus character and herbal notes. If I could take only one beer with me to a deserted island it would probably be Flower Power.

Without a doubt, one of the best and easily drinkable IPAs I've had in a while. It did not present as an overly hoppy beer on smell, and the taste and finish was clean and crisp. Pours just a little cloudy; it had a floral and fruity taste, but not overly so on either count. I would buy this regularly. It actually went down a little too easily!

A - Clear gold, moderate carbonation, nice white head.

S - True to name lots of floral hop aroma, but in addition some sweet fruity hop flavor, kind of like lychee like. Some sweet, light crystal malt comes through also.

T - Hops come on early and strong. More citrus to start, but the floral notes come on in the middle along with a nice biscuit/bread flavor. Ends with a nice bitter kick, but slightly more sweet than I would like.

M - American IPAs usually finish very clean and dry but this one has more of a moderate body. The body is almost more DIPA then IPA, but still good.

D - This is different than so many other American IPAs out there. Aggressively hopped, but with some different flavors (that Ahtanum isn't so common but it is good) and the bread flavors are a bit more like an English. Very solid IPA no matter how you look at it.

Pours into my glass a brilliant golden amber hue with a solid two fingers of creamy foam that leaves some spotty lacing as it falls. Definitely makes me want to drink it! Aromas of bright, fresh hops shine through. Citric, floral and herbaceous they rule the show here. Smooth malty backbone. Lovely and pungent.

First sip is bright hops upfront with more resinous citric and floral flavors flowing across the palate. Fresh and vibrant with a well balanced caramel malt backbone. Not overly bitter - but there's a nice bite on the way down and lingering hops on the finish. Well balanced, super tasty IPA. Yum.

Mouthfeel is smooth and medium bodied - super refreshing and easy drinking. Overall, this is just a great IPA and I wish I could obtain it easier!! Very glad to have finally had the opportunity to try it, thanks Lum!

The beer was a hazy copper color with a small white head. There was a lot of lace.

Caramel malt aroma. Pine and citrus hops.

A lot of caramel. Grapefruit and a bit of piney hops.

Nice beer. More malt than I expected, but still a very drinkable beer. Will look for this again.

Pours a hazy golden brown with a ridiculous amount of head, more than three fingers. Head is fluffy and has excellent retention. Leaves nice lacing.

Grapefruit and hops dominate the smell, along with some pine presence.

Taste is massive grapefruit up front, with some pine as well. Has a nice malt balance that I did not pick up in the smell. This really comes together for a great taste from start to finish.

Medium, oily mouthfeel. Some mild lingering dry bitterness on the tongue, but by no means overwhelming.

This is a solid IPA that I wish were readily available to me.

Gold with a thinnish head that hangs on pretty good.

Like, wow, man, this is one mellow IPA! Not much in the way of aroma - this followed a HopDevil, so it had a helluva opening act to live up to, but still, very subdued for an American IPA. The hops are primarily in the flavor and bitterness - they add a pleasant but not overpowering floral/citric/spicy character to the toasty, slightly caramelly malt flavors. A lingering bittersweet flavor finishes it off. Because of the lack of full frontal citrus assault and medium body, you can drink a LOT of these. Not the first choice for a hophead by any mans; however, if your tastes lean toward a more restrained IPA, it's a fine choice.

Not many superlatives left to describe this beer. Artfully crafted with a wonderful hop-foward profile but with a malt presence to keep it drinkable one after another. A nearly perfect beer for any hophead.

Perfect color & smell that begs to be drunk. Floral & citrus hops dance on the tongue in harmony. Finishes with a nice hop snap that lingers for a good minute.

My favorite east coast IPA (save for Heady Topper which I rarely can get).

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. The label has a best before date but no abv%.

Appearance: The body has a heavy haze with a warm orange amber glow. There is some nice visible carbonation which helps support a two finger tall, off white foam head. This head is very thick and clingy. It sticks all over the glass and leaves tons of thick lace patterns behind.

Smell: This one has lots of beautiful big juicy and fruity hops right up front in the nose. Just under the hops there is a sweet candy like maltiness for backup.

Taste/Palate: Right up front there is a ton of deep juicy hops sweetened by deep rich bready malts. Inside of this I get notes of mixed citrus rind, orange, lemon and heavy grapefruit as well as dried apricot and sweetened canned peaches. The hop bitterness slowly builds towards the finish with herbal leafy notes coming into the mix. It finishes with a deep dank hop presence that lingers on with solid bitterness. The plate has a very firm and smooth feel with mild carbonation.

Notes: This American IPA is very well made and brings all the hop power and bitterness of a Double or Imperial IPA.

Been wanting to try this one for awhile. I am lucky enough to get a lot of 3F Zombie and heard a lot of people say it was similar. Its not. BUT make no mistake. This is a GREAT beer. The mouthfeel is similar to Zombie but that's about it. The bottle I had was fairly new. The smell while having an nice citrus note was pale in comparison to Zombie. I got a good bit of grain/malt smell which was refreshing. Not everything has to be all Hops right?

The appearance was lighter than I expected. Looked almost unfiltered and mostly a tan/yellow haze and the core of the beer had a orange hue.

The taste is world-class. It is really good...like...really...really good. I actually just had another sip and changed my taste rating to 4.75

Pretty much if you can buy it frequently...you are lucky

If you can't buy it frequently and you see it....buy it

If you can't get it....there is a trade section on this site.

Outstanding beer...Cheers

Thanks to Casey3236 for getting this to me in a trade. I'll be enjoying this over the next week or week and a half.

Great yellow gold color with a fairly thick white head. Aroma is fantastic. I get a ton of earthiness from this beer; along with a ton of hops. Lacing is holding up fairly well. Taste is very nice as well. A nice dryness I don't expect from IPAs, but is enjoyable. The hop profile is clean and bright. Still loving the earthiness; it reminds me of the hills of Tennessee. Mouthfeel is slightly different, but like I said, the dryness is enjoyable. I find this IPA to be better suited for late Fall or early Spring, when it's a bit colder outside.

Pours a slightly hazy copper color with a decent head that retains fairly well. Some lacing noted
Smells very floral, fruity, sweet smelling...very pleasant.
Taste is extraordinary. Tropical notes, citrus notes, wrap themselves up in a resiny pine. But nothing overpowering...just pure harmony. This is avery intriguing brew and has popped up into one of my favorite IPA's recently. I dont remember it being this good 3 years ago. I could live off of this stuff and the occasional Stone, and Smuttynose. This stuff is well engineered and its the shit, thats all their is to it. So...Let's hear it for FLOWER POWER!!! 420!!!! YEYAAAEEAAAHHHH!!! I could...scratch that...will drink these all day and night. Beervana ravishing my pallete. Keep it comin'. Keep it comin'.

Pours orangy amber, moderate head, leads to a thin tiny buble film and some lacing. Piney, hop nose. Bready malt base, pleasant, but not overpowering hopping rate here. Fruity, and citric. Soft and well balanced IPA, actually seems British in style. This one will not to it for you if your looking for something wildly hoppy, but its a pleasant IPA/sessioner

Poured into a standard pint glass...

Good color, even better smell (multiple hints of citrus & pine) decent carbonation, but not overpowering. Flowery taste, followed by the pine & citrus notes. Great mouthfeel, not overcarbonated, a little sappyl leftover. Very hoppy at the end, almost like a double IPA. Really good beer- one of the best IPA's I've tasted.

Hazy orange body with a nice 1 finger white head. Smells of mango, pineapple, resinous and some other fruits. Tastes sweet at first, a bit prickly citrus, bitter medium dry finish with some lingering bitterness on the roof of my mouth. Most ipa finish bitter on my tongue but not this one. Quite drinkable for the medium high abv. The smell is the best part for me. I'd pick this up again. $2.00 a single at BoTW Rochester ny.

Appearance: 1/4 inch head, hazy, orange-brown in color, minimal carbonation

Smell: floral and pine hops

Taste: floral and pine hops, some bready malt

Mouthfeel: medium bodied, medium carbonation bitter and smooth

Drinkability: A very bitter and floral IPA. The bitterness prevents me from wanting more than one per sitting, but I would pick this up again as a single for a change of pace beer.

Thanks to exiled for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a clear light orangish-brown with a white head. The aroma is a mixture of resiny hops with some orange and grassy hop character as well. The flavor is resiny hops with a little bit of orange citrus. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A nice IPA but nothing too special.

I totally overlooked this beer for years because I thought the name and packaging was kinda cheesy. What a mistake!

A: Hazy gold with a one-finger head that reduces to a nice topping with a consistent ring around the edge. Nice tight bubbles. Good amount of lacing.

S: Citrus! Mostly grapefruit and pear (also lemon and apricot?) with a bit of sugary malt. One of the best smelling beers I've experienced. Almost like candy.

T: Perfectly balanced malt and hops. The best qualities of the hops are on display here as floral and citrus notes dominate the beginning and then gradually recede with a slow decent into bitterness.

M: An appealing middle-of-the-road level of carbonation and body. Pretty much what I'd look for in this style.

D: One of the best examples I've found. This particular IPA hits on all cylinders and is right up my alley. Will seek it out all year round.

served on cask at the blue monk in buffalo, ny into a pint glass.

served with a hazy honey golden glow color. a very nice, somewhat creamy retentive white head with lots of nice clingy lace.

a nice clean hop aroma. dank, floral, grapefruit citrus with a slightly sweet malt that evens things out.

smooth flavors meld with one another so nicely. a nice even bitterness throughout the sip and into the finish. again with the dank, floral, and grapefruit citrus hops. maybe a bit of pine in there, slightly peppery. just a bit of a light caramel, honey malt.

so smooth and creamy, slightly lower carbonation from the cask, gotta love it.

ive had this many times from the bottle. its not necesarily better from the cask, but it seems to meld the flavors together so nicely. almost a totally different beer. very easy drinking. good stuff.

Serving - bottle poured into a Speiglau IPA Glass

Appearance - Pours a dark yellow with a one finger head and loaded with sediment.

Smell - Very nice smell. Piney with a strong citrus punch.

Taste - Taste follows the nose with a malty finish. Slightly bitter on the finish as well.

Mouthfeel - Full but not heavy. Very low carbonation.

Overall - despite it not being the most attractive looking beer I've seen, the smell is great and it is a very tasty beer. I would go out of my way to find it again and I am pleased to have tried it.
