I give this beer a perfect 5 across the board. Ithaca really nailed it with this one. The name Flower Power speaks for itself. The honey orange glowing appearance calls out to you right from the pour. Less than a finger head that lingers around. The mouth feel on this beer is equal to the robust nose that it offers leaving no disappointments. Truthfully for the more experienced IPA drinker. FYI this beer will change your palate for the night so it will be tough to drink anything less in flavor.

Glad i got to try this fresh on tap, as last time I had it I am pretty sure the bottles were old because I was not impressed.

A- This had a nice hazy orange appearance with a small head that hung around for awhile.

S- Huge citrus smell with slight resiny pine smell in the background. The citrus was really overpowering those though.

T- really hop forward with a nice grapefruit taste to it. Exactly as I hoped it would taste judging from the smell. Glad I gave this another shot.

M- really well put together, the hop tastes lingered awhile in the mouth right until the last sip.

This was great, on tap was a lot better than I remember from the bottle. This is definitely something you need to have fresh to see how good of a beer it is.

On tap at senate.

Hazy orange with white head that lingers we'll.

There is no mistaking the citrusy aromas from the hops. Some pine and zesty herbal notes too.

Medium mouthfeel with a nice punch from the hops. Chewy bread characters from the malt bill. Great hop complexity adds dimension to this IPA. It feels layered with hop character; more floral zesty notes, lemon zest, grapefruit and a bit of pine.

Very nicely done. I enjoyed this until the last drop.

Very nice IPA. Mouth feel was very light and airy. Color was an nice orange with white head. Smell had nice floral and slight citrus notes. Taste was fruity and flowery as described in the name. Got this because they were out of Maine Brewing Company Mo. I would get this beer again.

Sampled on tap at Mug's Ale House in Brooklyn.

Light, yellowish golden with a slight haze and a small white head. Nice floral hop aroma. I can see where the name comes from. Fantastic balanced flavor with equal contributions from hop flavor and bitterness. The malt is noticeable. A creamy texture.

A great beer with excellent harmony and an amazing freshness.

look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

Appearance: Pours a nearly crystal clear pale gold, with a substantial white head. Moderate lacing on the glass.

Smell: As the name suggests, the floral hops hit the nose right away, along with a light earthy scent. Pale malt does its job, rounding things out without detracting from the hops. As the beer warms, a hint of honey is detected.

Taste: Hop bitterness and flavor are appropriately high, with the hops tasting of lavender and spice. The pale base malt is mildly sweet, bringing balance to the profile. The bitterness lingers well into the finish, along with a sort of soapy taste of floral perfume.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body, with medium-high carbonation that adds to the dryness of the finish, but without imparting harshness.

Overall: The strong floral character is definitely different! I can see the appeal, but I might have added just a bit of citrus hops to make the flavor more refreshing and less eau de toilette. Definitely worth trying.

I first had this on-tap at the fabulous Blue Tusk in Syracuse and it was every bit as good as indicated by previous reviewers. I've since bought a six pack and it was equally as tasty in the bottle. The citrus just SMACKS your nose, but in a wonderful way. In fact, that's the most distinctive aspect of this brew. It's so prominent that I merely opened a bottle in my kitchen and someone else came in later and immediately noticed it.

You smell it and think, "Wow -- can this taste as good as it smells?" And the answer is, "Yes!" If you love citrus (grapefruit) and hops and more hops and more hops, you can't go wrong with this one.

Flower Power pours a medium orange copper. There's a fluffy white head, with great retention and lacing.

The aroma is dominated by hops, as you'd expect. Citrus and grapefruit, mostly, with a touch of malty sweetness.

The taste follows the aroma. There's that slight sweetness that balances out an incredible hop flavor of citrus and grapefruit. There's a nice bitterness that hides the 7.50% ABV really well.

Mouthfeel is nice and light, with a slight alcoholic presence. Smooth with a touch of bitterness that lingers for a little.

This West-Coast style IPA has flown under the radar for too long. Exemplifying much of what an IPA should be, it's time Flower Power gets the recognition it deserves.

On tap at The Distillery in Rochester, NY.

Appearance: Pours a fairly clear pale gold with a thin white head. Leaves a mild lacing.

Smell: Lots of grapefruit and floral hops, with a very slight tropical fruit presence. Very clean aroma.

Taste: Very similar to the smell, with a lot of citrus, grapefruit, and floral hops. A little bit of biscuity malt sneaks in, but there's not a whole lot of malt presence. Clean bittering hops on the finish. No alcohol apparent.

Mouthfeel: Crisp and clean. Dries the palate nicely on the finish.

Overall: Very well done IPA. This will be a staple for me now that I've relocated to Rochester.

Pours a pale yellow with off white merengue head. Moderate lacing.

Smells hoppy with prominent grapefruit and sweet mango.

Here we go! Juicy Luicy!!!! This is juice with mild hop. Like you are licking hard on the face of a half-cut pink grapefruit picking up on juicy pulp. A mother trucker of an IPA I've rarely came across.

Lower carbonation and creamy versus chewy.

This is the juiciest IPA I've had thus far! As far as taste this is el perfecto! On-tap the malt was lighter, but in the bottle the malt perfectly backed up the hop. I'm crushing these! Simply put IMO-one of the best.

The beer was a hazy copper color with a small white head. There was a lot of lace.

Caramel malt aroma. Pine and citrus hops.

A lot of caramel. Grapefruit and a bit of piney hops.

Nice beer. More malt than I expected, but still a very drinkable beer. Will look for this again.

Appearance: Golden-yellow, very clear. 1.5 fingers of white head.

Smell: Sweet tropical mango. Lots (and lots) of pineapple. Bitter hops / pine resin. This smells delicious.

Taste: Bitter up front, followed by pineapple/mango flavor. Aftertaste has some malt sweetness but mostly consists of pretty substantial hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Medium carbonation, medium-thick mouthfeel, a bit syrupy. Kind of a bit much, for me.

Overall: Great, but not amazing. Overall just a bit too bitter and unbalanced for me.

I've only had this on draft, but I would rank this as the most perfect beer I have had. If you're an IPA fan who enjoys the more aromatic IPA's. you've got to try this. SImply fantastic.

Notes: Had on draft in Central PA at both Vic's pub and Smiling Chameleon. Absolutely fantastic in both cases.

Pours a clear golden yellow, a hair brighter than a miller high life. Thin white head dissipates to a thick outer ring and a pond of froth on top.

Aroma is light, with faint citrus hops and very mild bready malt. A bit of orange, tangerine and lemon zest.
Flavor is heavy on the hops. A tongue filling blend of pine, mild mint leaves, grass, lime zest, grapefruit and tangerine. Balanced well despite an existing but nuetral 2 row like malt base. Vibrant flavor, well balanced.

Hop bitterness floods all parts of the tongue. Medium body, low carbonation.

A great ipa. Well balanced with a wide variety of hop flavor, medium bitterness and high drinkability despite its abv.

Beer is a transparent copper colour, with a moderately-sized white head.

Big nose: citrus focused, with lots of grapefruit. A bit of sweet malt.

Taste is soapy, with lots of citrus, predominantly grapefruit. Hops, hops an more hops. There is a bit of a malty backbone that gives some body, but not much malt flavour. A bit of bread. Fairly bitter.

Medium bodied, highly carbonated A bit oily.

Overall, quite good.

Maybe my batch was infected, because all I could taste and smell was kale. This beer was recommended to me by the bartender, and I assume she tasted it because she steered me away from another beer she felt was too weak and recommended this one. I guess there's a slight chance a wild yeast got in some time after she tried it and before I did, because this was not a pleasant experience at all.

Drove down to Mass to visit relatives:

At CBS Scene (Patriot Place):

In a pint glass:

A: clear light golden body with a one finger off-white head with light slowly moving streams of carbonation seen rising.

S: floral hops, a bit of grassiness, citrus and pine.

T: took those flavors and added a bit of back punch of malt as the beer warmed.

M: light and spritzy with an acceptable amount of harshness on the tongue due to the style, it had a dry and bitter finish.

O: this is good for me and good for the style.

a damn good ipa, one of the best out of new york state. the pour is akin to a fresh hop beer, golden honey in color with a little hazy and a delicate tan head thats short and lacey. the nose is tons of puckery grapefruit and some tropical fruit as well, but the flavor gives off some pine notes too in the hop complexion. this is a very refreshing ipa, fruity but not sweet, light malt keeps the hops on center stage. its really bitter in the finish, but more like a fruit bitter, sort of tart and almost caustic in that citric acid way, but the feel is in fact pretty smooth. youd never guess the abv until you drink a few and try to walk to the pisser. mild but adequate carbonation and only a medium body, this is dangerously poundable. i love the citrus element in the hops, its different and its delicious. ithacas best beer as far as i am concerned.

On tap at the Blind Tiger in Manhattan.

Amber color with thick white head that lingers well in pint.

Smell is as the name suggests, a floral car-bomb. Nice lemon, and mango notes.

Taste is lemon, mango and sweet malts. Good resinous hoppiness. Nice bitterness in finish. Not overpowering. Great balance.

Mouthfeel is smooth and mediun bodied with nice carbonation.

Overall this is almost perfect. Would love to see this in Mississippi.

On tap at Mug's.

Golden pour, plenty of thick, white head and lace. Strong retention for the style. Fruity hops and some pine greet my nose before each sip.

Taste is outstanding. Strongly hopped base is juicy as hell, nearly unmatched by any other Single IPA I've tried. Minimal pine, some bitterness at the end but (thankfully) there's no bite from the hops.

Body is creamy and viscous; best mouthfeel of the style IMO. When this stuff is fresh, it's phenomenal. And remember: I don't like Single IPAs! :)

On draught at Mad Mex, Flower Power is dark, dull gold with a small off-white collar leaving sticky, scattered lace.

Smell is pungent, bright NW hops, a nice balance of citrus and resin.

Taste is also pungently hoppy, heavier skewed to the pine than the nose. A bit hot, with a surprisingly firm malt backbone for the appearance, if not the cleanest - must be lots of cheap 2-row.

Mouthfeel is oily, medium bodied, drier.

Drinkability is pretty good. This taste pretty fresh, hop wise, and slakes my NW style IPA cravings well enough, but the somewhat dirty flavors of malt and fermentation lead me to believe this one would fall off in a hurry.

Had this great beer on tap at my house ( yes, really) and in a bottle.
A- pours a really nice yellow amber with a wonderful pillowy, fluffy white inch and 1/2 head!
S- smells of citrus and has a grassy clean smell as well.
T- wow! Hop forward with a nice citrus taste that lingers on the tongue and back of throat, very slight bready finish, amazing!!
M- feels clean and slippery
O- thought this was one of the better ipa's i have ever had. Just a well done beer. Was lucky enough to get a log of this for my kegerator and couldnt be happier ( or hoppier...sorry). Will always look for this beer when in the mood for an ipa.

On tap in a pint glass.

A- cloudy light golden-orange hue. The honey in this beer shows in the color, no 'IPA amber' color in this one. A fluffy one-finger head that really lasts, lots of sticky lacing.

S-grapefruit all the way. Flowery as well?

T-tart citrus punch from that grapefruit balanced with some malt and honey sweetness.

M-Very full body from good carbonation, a healthy 7.5% abv, and those balanced flavors.
The hops, citrus, and alcohol electrify the tongue.

O-I drove through three towns to taste this after a conversation with a bartender who tipped me off about the availability. Well worth the trip. And just in time - 3 pints and I kicked the keg. I did not drive home, by the way. A must have if you like this style.

Served on tap at Mugs Alehouse in Brooklyn, NY

A: Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a finger tall white head that reduces by about 50% but the remainder is retained. Significant lacing is observed.

S: Lots of floral hops aromas with some more subtle hints of citrus and pine.

T: Slightly light in the flavor but there are a lot of floral hints and some notes of the citrus and pine hops as well. I would describe the flavor as refreshing.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Extremely easy to drink and very refreshing - definitely a session beer and one that we all often get when we go out and want something easy to find and dependable.
