Bottle to rock art pint glass

A: honey amber colored with a thin white head and a decent amount of carbonation. The beer is a little cloudy but mostly translucent

S:mango bomb this has some forger tropical fruit but it reeks like melon/mango I love it but not much else there.

T:follows the nose with the melon taste but the hops are way more present though juicy the way I like it. There is some bitterness and hint of malt in the finish

M:oily and juicy but very drinkable and goes down easy

O:this is a solid fruity standard ipa I like it a lot not mind blowing but way better then average wish I could have this as a go to.

Thanks to scottk1969 for the bottle! 12 oz bottle poured into a Duvel artist tulip. Notes from last night's Skins/Cowboys game.

A: Pours a hazy golden color with a bit of yeast sediment floating about. The head is a beautiful two finger creamy white head with fantastic, almost Guinness-like texturing. Good lacing is left on the glass.

S: The hype train wasn't kidding about this having an amazing aroma. There are tons of tropical fruits - mango, cantaloupe, apricot, papaya - that explode aromatically. I will say, this isn't quite as vibrant as it could have been if it had been super fresh or from a growler, so sadly I can't give it a 5 in good conscience.

T: The tropical fruits from the nose come through to the flavor - at first. Initial tastes of melon, grapefruit, and cantaloupe are quickly supplanted by a floral, piny bitterness. I'd like to see a little more citrusy notes and less piny bitterness, but this is still a great (but simple) IPA.

M: Tingly coarse at first, before leaving the palate quickly by a good clean dryness. Pleasant carbonation and drinkability.

O: I'd buy the shit out of this if it were readily available in my area. Honestly, however, I don't know if I'd seek it out, only because this supposedly falls off fast and hard. Still, this is very much a must try.

12oz bottle poured into ale glass

A-One width finger formed head. Bright white head formed and receded back into the beer after a moment or two. Left nice lacing. Beer is slightly hazy with no particles floating around in it. Looks great!

S-Hops hops hops. Citrus notes throughout the bouquet. Mango, Pineapple, apple(not sour apple), pear, tangerine. Amazing, appetizing, appealing smell!

T-The nose was all hops. The taste brings the malt bill into play. Smooth slightly grainey with the hops balancing out the beer. Surprisingly the hops are not as big of a role as they are in the nose. Was expecting a more hop bight. Finishes with a pleasant bitter after taste.

M-Good mouthfeel overall. Can feel the carbonation on the tongue especially. Standard IPA mouthfeel.

O-A great beer overall. Highly drinkable and very delightful. I feel that it will always be a great IPA! Exceptional example of the style!

Best by March 2013. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Pours a clear golden orange color with a good sized off white head. The head settles to a foam cap that is off white with orange tinges. Decent lacing is left on the sides of the glass with each sip. Good carbonation is evident from the appearance.

Huge hop aromas in the nose. Despite the name, huge citrus notes dominate here. There is definitely a floral aspect to it but some nice grapefruit and lemon notes are very prominent. There is also a bit of a piney character on the back end. There really isn't any malt that comes through,

The taste is almost identical to the nose. Huge grapefruit and other citrus are the dominant flavors and are really strong, but not overpowering. There is a touch of some floral hop character with a nice pine note that brings a slight bitterness to the finish. As with the nose there really isn't much malt that comes through. That being said the beer doesn't not feel too unbalanced.

The body lies on the lower end of medium. When paired a with a relatively high carbonation it provides a light feeling, very crisp beer. The crispness really gives the hop flavors a good bite and makes it extremely drinkable.

This is a excellent IPA. The citrus and pine notes are more prominent than the floral notes, which does against what the name suggests but that really doesn't have anything to do with how good the beer tastes. The 7.5% ABV is extremely surprising given how this beer drinks. Definitely one of the better fresh regional(ish) IPAs.

Slightly hazy gold with a thick, soapy head. Deep melon, perfume-like floral, citrus, peach, various over-ripe fruits, and pine atop a hint of toasted caramel. Solid wallop of hops on the tongue...heavy, spicy, pulpy orange and grapefruit, dried apricot sweetness, and green pine resin bitterness swallows up the bready malt. Medium, solid body with a good amount of snappiness that makes me go in for another sip and then chew on it for a bit. Very nice East Coast IPA.
