A: A clear slightly burnt orange in color. Poured off with one finger of white head, little retention, and little lacing. Definitely not the strong point of the beer.

S: Pine and grapefruit.

T: Follows the nose a bit, then there are some orange, mango, floral, and earthy notes. A lot is going on here, but it is sort of subtle.

M: Light body with medium carbonation. Smooth, a little creamy, and refreshing.

O: A little light for so much ABV. Overall, it was good but I was hoping for more body and taste. On the other hand, I really like when IPAs throw the whole kitchen sink at you in the flavor department, I just wish it was more pronounced.

12 oz bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada imperial pint.
Best before O notched on the label, no info.

A - Flower Power is a hazy golden yellow color that's topped by a well-retained ivory head of foam. As the bubbles pop, sticky webbing remains clutching the pint like gnarled fingers.

S - Immediately, spicy, floral hops punch out with force and are followed by lemon citrus and mild pine resin hints. Juicy pineapple and faint grapefruit add fruity undertones while the subtle pale malt base allows the hops to shine while giving good balance.

T - Biting in flavor, the floral, citrusy hops retain the explosive punch they have in the aroma, bombarding the tongue with pine, herbal spiciness, and a fruity finish akin to the beer's smell. A touch of caramel sweetness trails off with the pale malt on the finish.

M - The aroma's pine resin suggests biting bitterness, but it's not quite as strong as one might anticipate. Earthy dryness and a hoppy dry finish balance the medium-light body with just a touch of citrusy tartness on the finish.

O - Ithica's Flower Power IPA does a great job at showcasing a variety of different hop characteristics all while remaining cohesive and drinkable. Spice, herbal notes, floral notes like the name would suggest, and fruity undertones come together masterfully. A great IPA to be sure!

On tap-Poured from a growler from Lewis Bros. Market in Horseheads, NY.

Appearance - Orange colored, lighter than a lot of other IPA's

Smell - A very nice pine smell.

Taste - This is a very enjoyable IPA. I get a lot of citrus and pines notes. I would say the taste is assertive and pleasant. Very drinkable IPA.

Mouthfeel - Medium body on the lower carbonation side.

Overall: I live 35 miles from the brewery I think this beer is a grand slam home run for Ithaca Beer Co. Probably their flagship beer and for good reason.

Poured from bottle into pint glass

Appearance – Poured a hazy golden color with a two finger white head. The head had a decent retention, fading over time to give a moderate amount of lacing.

Smell – The aroma is heaviest of tropical fruits and citrus with a lighter bready aroma. As the name implies, mixed with these are aromas of a more floral nature with light hints of pine as well.

Taste – The flavor starts out more bready and sweet with some of the fruit flavors present up front. Right at the start there is some citrus hop flavor which complements the tropical fruit flavors well. As the taste advances the pine hop enter he taste profile bittering the beer a bit. As the flavor rolls forward a mellowing herbal hop comes to the tongue and with an increase in the citrus hop in the end leaves a lightly bittered yet rather smooth flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body was rather creamy with a level of carbonation that was on the lower side. Overall it was very nice for the hop and sweet flavors and made for a easy drinking feel.

Overall – A pretty easy drinking and refreshing IPA even at 7.5 % abv. Slighly on the mild side in terms of hoppiness, but delicious none the less.

best before date marked. tulip glass. review from notes.

a - pours a bright, hazy orange color with a pinky or so of dense, pale yellow foam. retention is good - stays at a thin cap for the length of the glass. leaves thick sheets of lacing.

s - biscuity, grapefruit, tangerine, faint honey.

t - grapefruit, grass, and pine over a toasty malt base. bitterness is prominent but doesn't linger. pretty straightforward but well executed.

m - medium body, adequate carbonation, lighter co2 profile.

o - very drinkable and quite enjoyable. solid all around and certainlyone of the nicer ipas i have tried. would love to have this available in michigan.

Ithaca Flower Power
12oz bottle poured into a pint glass
Best before notched in between Sept and Oct.

Thanks to Bonez05404 for sending this over as an extra.

A: Pours a slightly hazy light golden orange with just over 1 fingers width of white head. Leaves sheets of layered lacing.

S: Big citrus and tropical fruit aromas, peach mango and tangerines.  Dank, resinous hops, a hint of sweet malt backbone.  Very nice.

T: Citrus and juicy tropical fruits.  Pineapple, grapefruit, lemon zest.  A nice degree of piney bitterness. Well done, nice balance of citrus and bitterness.

M/D: Carbonation on the lower end, slightly undercarbonated,  medium bodied.  Drinkability is high.

O:  Overall, a well done beer.  Not amongst the elite in terms of IPAs, but very good and certainly something Id drink again.
