Got this one at Premiere Gourmet in Amherst, NY.

From a bottle into a snifter

APPEARANCE: Pours a small, medium looking, white head with good retention, eventually fading to a faint wisp and ring. Body is a hazy gamboge orange with lower levels of carbonation. A slight wisp and ring remains until the end leaving some small dots of lacing down the glass. Good looking beer.

SMELL: Big nose of pale malts, honeydew melon, and plenty of citrus notes including grapefruit, orange, and some piney notes too. Really nice, fruity, impressive nose on this one.

TASTE: Pale and caramel malts up front, then lots of citrus at the swallow. Bitter grapefruit, lemon, and some light piney flavors are balanced by some sweet melon notes. Bold and lingering aftertaste offers plenty of bitter citrus and piney hops beside the sweet malt profile. Very nice, and completely my style.

PALATE: Medium body and carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down fine and finishes somewhat dry. Good feel, plenty smooth, but could be a touch fuller for top marks.

OVERALL: This is excellent. A touch more sweetness after the swallow would make it other-worldly, but as it is, this is definitely a top-tier, world class American IPA. One of the best in its class. Those of you who can buy this year round are lucky people. Highly recommended.

Growler from Oasis in Hopewell Junction. Pours beautiful, frothy head over a clear golden body. Retention is nice and initial lacing is pretty. Mouth is crisp and fresh. Some fruity, piney hops are up front but balanced well by the malt. You feel the hops but not too much. A really great IPA.

An exceptional IPA. Looks great on a pour. Big frothy white head, golden/light amber body and thick bands of lacing. Head retention is very good. Smell is good also, mostly piney hops

Taste does not disappoint either. Mostly piney hops, somewhat resiny abut with some floral hops and bready malts as well, Nice balance. The hops are featured but the maltiness takes away some hops bite without taking away any flavor.

Mouthfeel is rich and crisp, smoother than most good IPAs. Goes down very easy. Oneof the better IPAs,

On tap at Mug's.

Golden pour, plenty of thick, white head and lace. Strong retention for the style. Fruity hops and some pine greet my nose before each sip.

Taste is outstanding. Strongly hopped base is juicy as hell, nearly unmatched by any other Single IPA I've tried. Minimal pine, some bitterness at the end but (thankfully) there's no bite from the hops.

Body is creamy and viscous; best mouthfeel of the style IMO. When this stuff is fresh, it's phenomenal. And remember: I don't like Single IPAs! :)
