Poured from a growler into my Otter Creek nonic.

Pale, golden orange fills the glass, quite transparent and clean. Half an inch of bubbly white head dissipates quickly, leaving a web of soapy lacing. There's a very nice floral quality to the smell, so Ithaca gets points for appropriately naming this particular brew. A few notes of pine needles lead into quite a bit of fruitiness. Not just the usual citrusy blends typical of IPAs, but a whole array of sweet nuances, including apricot and a hint of pear. Quite nice!

The fruitiness is right there in the first sip, with sweet and clean malt notes coupling with a juicy hop kick to create a flavorful taste on the tongue. Some mild grassy notes are detectable as well. Bitterness is present, but subdued, which suits me just fine. Rounds out with a very mild pucker from the hops, with a very slight aftertaste. Mouthfeel is on point for the style, with a medium body and a drying finish.

A well-done IPA from a reputable East Coast brewery. The West Coast is known for doing the IPA, but it's nice to know that even in my home state, Eastern IPAs are well-
represented and definitely well-executed.

Had on tap at Peculier Pub NYC

A: Golden and hazy, with a creamy, silky smooth, wonderful head that leaves an artistic lacing.

S: Hop and citrus notes. Very big hop notes(peach, tangerine, apricot)..

T: Like most IPA's the taste follows the nose. Big hop flavor, upfront and unapologetic. A different style of hop blend produces a effervescent, yet earthy hop profile. Grapefruit, tangerine, and clementine round out the hop character. Malt is here for a balance and really is hidden. Dry aftertaste.

M: Medium body, high carbonation, and very bitter.

O: Very nice IPA for a hop head. Has a dynamic blend of hops that does produce a sort of floral overtone, but not enough to name the beer flower power. I'd say the best you'd get in terms of flower aroma would be a dried out rose or lilly, bought at say, michaels or ac moore. I enjoyed the effort from a brewery I'll probably be seeing more of soon.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a DFH Snifter:

A-Orange, opaque with a finger of head that hangs out for a bit and then leaves lacing nicely down the sides of the glass

S-Awesome, fruit, pine, citrus, definitely aptly named because the floral presence is excellent

T-Also really fine stuff, the bitterness is just right and everything is in balance

M-Outstanding, just about perfect, not too astringent and nothing on the back end to detract

O-This is really an excellent AIPA, in my book it might be on a a par with Celebration...

Thanks to Sidebordz for the trade!

Poured a medium golden amber that was non-translucent but appeared to be totally filtered. Produced a small, inconsistently laced off white head that subsided to a mere ring around the glass. The smells became exponentially more aromatic once poured into the glass revealing a nice hoppiness with notes of citrus, lemon, zest and freshness. There is only the subtlest of malt tastes. It has a nice bitterness and almost the dry finish of an unsugared tea. The 7.5% abv is masked well. First tastes from Ithaca Beer Co and I'm satisfied.

Enjoy!

Big thanks to my boy caSSino for bringing this one to share with me! Served from bottle into a NoDa Brewing snifter. Poured yellow orange with a half finger off-white head and subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained phenomenal lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, citrus, pine, caramel, tangerine, citrus hop, and fruit hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, pine, citrus, citrus hop, tangerine, and orange peel. It had a medium feel on the palate with a medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. The aroma on this one was REALLY nice and balanced. It was very potent with citrus and fruit notes which was very nice. The flavor was more of the same with more of the fruit presence taking charge. A well done brew that I'm glad I've finally gotten the chance to try.

Tasted blind as part of Blind BIF 6, courtesy of mdfb79. A 12-oz bottle poured into my CBS snifter.

A - Very clear golden orange, with a finger or two of near-white head. Thin but long-lasting lacing.

S - This is yet another that I could smell the second the cap came off. Awesome tropical, pineapply, mandarin-orangey hops. This smells fantastic. There's some biscuity malt in there, too. Smells like a fantastic IPA.

T - This can't quite cash the check written by the aroma, but it's still quite good. Orange pith, pineapple, pine, and some grassy/earthy resin. A simple but tasty malt backbone. This is a well-done, balanced, drinkable IPA. I like it, but don't quite love it.

M - Medium body, relatively low carbonation.

Overall, this is a very nice IPA. I wish the flavor were as awesome as the aroma, but it was still good.

Hazy orange body with a solid finger of white head.

Nose is tops. This may be the best smelling IPA ever, including Heady Topper. Sweet mango and lemon. Wow!

Flavor is tart, crisp and just a bit sweet. Certainly not a big giant malt bomb like DFH 90, but I would say that this is more balanced than a lot of recent IPAs I've tried. Huge, juicy hops are everywhere. Tropical fruits and sharp citrus. Moderate apparent bitterness married with huge aroma. Really nice!

Mouthfeel is slick and stripping. Citrus burn.

Overall is excellent. I like this more than Pliny, but maybe a little less than Heady Topper. If the numbers don't reflect that, oh well...reviewing is inherently subjective.

Enjoying tonight from a 12 oz. courtesy of a trade with ThePorterSorter.

A: Pours a delightful golden blond into my 4 oz. Intuition ale works tumbler. Head at 1/2" on the pour subsided quickly to a cloudy surface foam with moderate lacing.

S: Smell is quite pleasant. Even amounts of fruity esters in the apricot vein balanced with soft malts and fragrant florals from the hops.

T: Taste is gentle and well balanced. Star fruit and light tangerine citrus notes on the tongue with only the slightest hops bite to even out the malts. Finishes wet and earthy with a soft loam backnote. Refreshing and delicious beer that is subtle and well balanced.

M: Easily draught. Carbonation is soft and micro-fizzy. Very wet on the tongue and clean tasting. A truely refreshing beverage.

O: This could easily be a go-to beer for me. Very nice. I'd definitely love to enjoy some more of this beer.

Appearance: Golden Orange. Clean and semi transparent. Pours a nice head that has some variation in bubbles. Streaming carbonation from the bottle of the tulip glass. Has some nice legs on the glass.

Smell: Nice and hoppy. A pleasant lack of bitter with some nice clean citrus notes. Lots of grapefruit.

Taste: A clean hop profile. A bit more bitter than the nose but a good hop backbone. It has some very pronounced lemon and grapefruit notes. A clean and lasting finish. Maybe a little too much grapefruit for me but it really opens up and smooths out as it warms. Pretty clean for 7.5%.

Mouthfeel: A decent dose of carbonation, really fine and homogeneous. Thin and spreads well.

Overall: A solid IPA that really smooths out as it warms up. A really spot on amount of hops. In my opinion, it's got a too much of a forward grapefruit taste that makes it a bit too bitter for me. I still really enjoyed it but it's just not my favorite IPA.
