Attractive appearance, pours light amber in the tall glass. Well carbonated with a nice foamy cap. A few bits and pieces floating but lovely champagne bubbles.

Smooth and rich with a beautiful aromatic flavor. Hops in the nose and hops on the tongue, but all so flowery and spicy. Bitterness is remarkably moderate. A rather light mouthfeel for all the intensity of flavor. Malt is sturdy but light on its feet. A delicious, drinkable, yet hop-centric brew. And the creamy mouthfeel adds to the pleasure.

I have been drinking too many west coast and Colorado IPAs the last few years. I think the western crowd should pay attention to what other brewers are doing with the less intensely bitter style. Ithaca, Southern Tier, Dock Street-- and Epic in Salt Lake. More flower power!

Picked this up at Consumers in the Buffalo area. Pours a dark, clear amber orange. Smells amazing, hoppy and floral like. Picking up citrus notes in the taste, with some pine and floral like hops. Drinks down incredibly smooth for being 7.5% and I have to force myself to drink this slowly so it lasts longer. Definately one of the better east coast IPAs around.

Clear copper color with a razor-thin head that leaves light lacing on the glass. Smell is grapefruit and pepper with some light floral notes. Taste is grapefruity and bitter with a touch of resin and a dry, aspirin-like bitterness in the finish. Feel is fairly light with a biting carbonation. Overall very well-balanced for a hop-forward beer.

Appearance - coppery amber colour with white head

smell - hops, pine, pineapple, grapefruit, mango, caramel

taste - mango, grapefruit, pineapple, hops, caramel in the background

mouthfeel - higher side of medium bodied, bordering on full, sweetness and bitterness upfront, hops linger well in the aftertaste, full carbonation, crisp

overall - very good IPA that i'm happy to try again, really flavorful, not just a bitter hop bomb, but nice balance between florality (word), sweetness and bitterness

price point - $2.25/single 12 oz.

peachy/copper color, bright, but not quite perfectly clear. Topped with an inch of extremely dense, creamy off-white foam. Truly excellent lacing. If they kinda all look like this should I be rating it as average, even though it looks fantastic? hmm...

I'm considering a "5" in the nose. It is loaded with fresh hop aroma, and there is some floral to go with the fruit, which, well, duh, it's in the name! I'm not sure I can identify a certain fruit. Sort of sweet grapefruit, orange, maybe a bit of lemony note, and some sweeter orchard fruit. I see apricot mentioned and, yeah, I could call it that and feel like it was a good descriptor. No malt noted until I smell it in the empty glass.

The flavor isn't quite up to the rest of the experience so far. It'd be hard to do so, but the effect is mildly disappointing nonetheless. Not overly bitter upfront though there is plenty of hop kick in the back side. Aftertaste is quite bitter along with a mild doughy pale malt flavor. Pretty drying and in fact a bit astringent. However the it makes up for it with that sort of tangy hop flavor that I love. Not sure I'd call it "dry" but this is definitely not that sweet either. Pale malt is overwhelmed completely in the aroma but shows itself here, not quite managing to balance the bitterness. I don't get any caramelized notes, and just a hint of toast - nice malt bill to give us the gravity but get the hell out of the way of the hops! No alcohol flavor that I can discern, but I feel a heat in the throat at the swallow.

Softly carbonated with at most a medium body, very creamy but it doesn't stick on the palate at all. Alcohol is a bit high, pushing up against the imperial style, and as such the drinkability suffers slightly.

12oz bottle served in a standard pint glass.

pours a clear, dull golden yellow yielding a foamy, relativey lasting 2 finger head; patchy lacing.

yowzah, the nose is exceptional. big fragrant bouquet of citrus, a touch of pine, and some caramel maltiness. delicious aroma, just what i look for in my IPAs. and taste isn't far behind, delivering fresh citrus, apricot, some floral characters and a malty backbone. bitter hoppiness in the finish. outstanding IPA. really enjoyable.

medium bodied, medium-low carbed mouthfeel; i already see this earning a spot in my regular rotation.
