This new flower power is not what it used to be. It's a mere shadow of 2011 Flower Power. The beer had very little scent. The flavor was faint. This beer could be called "Flower Power light".
It is still a fine beer but it lost it's edge....big time.

i got this from the secret santa bif. to be completely honest i had forgotten that i had it. it has been sitting in the back of my fridge for the past month and some change. sadly it seems this is well past its prime. all traces of an ipa have left a malt bomb of a mess. i feel bad that im continuing to review this. hrmm oh well.

pours with a great amount of fluffy white thick well retaining head, that sits above a beautiful copper colored brew.

smells like at one point this had some nice east coast hoppy goodness. sadly that smell is faint, faded and leaves alot to be desired.

taste is along the same lines with the smell. at one point this might have been a decent beer. that time is not today. unbalanced, stale whispers of hops. : /

mouth is alright. smooth. medium bodied. decent amount of carbonation.

i would love to see what this could have been fresh. I will look forward to attempting again this summer.

12oz bottle from 6-pack poured into pint glass.
Thin, quickly dissipating head lies on top of opaque honey-orange liquid. Mild fruit, flower aroma with hints of caramel. Hop bitterness predominates, lingers, doing a fair job of masking the 8% ABV. Unfortunately that's the best that can be said for the flavor of this IPA. You could drink a couple of these if the alternative is a mass produced offering that boasts "triple hops", but with the plethora of IPA's now available, why?

Ithicas flower power is interesting. I've heard some great reviews so I decided to vice it a go.

A. The look of the beer it great. Nice cloudy, rich golden hue. Small white head with a little lacing.

S. The scent is very strong and complex. The pineyness of the hops kicks your senses first with a sweet tickle of flowers to back it up.

T. Same as smell but much more overpowering. Hops cover your palette immediately with a slight sweet after taste

M. The body is not the fullest but has some carbonation to it. As soon as you fill your mouth, the fizz dies down quickly.

O. Not bad overall. Would I get it again, maybe. But if you like IPAs, give it a try if you have not yet.

Served in recommended pint glass.

This beer has an average-sized, fluffy white head with large bubbles. The head vanishes but leaves some nice lacing. It is clear, sparkling and amber. (Maybe 10 SRM). The aroma is of pine and grapefruit with a hint of grass. There is a dusty, earthy basement odor that borders on wet cardboard. In the mouth, it's a bit light, flat, and maybe chalky. The flavor is mostly a grapefruit-orange. It's not bad but not as hoppy as I would have liked it to be.

If you love pure liquid hops this beer is for you. If you like a full balanced beer tempered by a brilliant hop equilibrium, this isn't your beer. The malt and beer flavor itself is lost in the bombardment of piney, grapefruit hop overload. This should have been named hop tea.

A- Pours out a slightly orange gold. With just half a finger of head and some thick but weakly clinging lacing.

S- Some hoppiness as would be expected of an IPA. Suprisingly weak though. I can't detect any maltiness.

T- Domination of hops- all pine needles and grapefruit. I'm really not detecting any malt backbone. There is some lingering sweetness after the hops flavor so I guess there must be some malt but I can't get any flavor from it. I suspect this would be a great beer for a hop head, but I'm not such a fan.

M- Pretty light, not a large body on this beer. The carbination flattering for this lightness.

D- I need more complexity than this beer can offer me- an alcoholic hop tea.

This one appears a fairly average amber color, with a fading white bubbly head. Smells a little weak for an IPA, but a nice hop aroma is there. Ehhh, I don't know about the taste. A little too sweet and malty. Really sweet actually. I don't know the ABV, but it seems pretty noticable, and really warming. Less hoppy than is desired. Mouthfeel is a little thick. All in all a little underwhelming. They make a great Nut Brown though.
