12 oz bottle poured into a Sierra Nevada imperial pint.
6.3% ABV, Best before Dec notched on label.
Thanks to Chaney for sending this as part of the monster box!
A - Pouring a hazed, dirty apricot color, this orange beer is topped by a cream off-white head that disappears pretty quickly leaving wispy fingers of lace on the pint glass.
S - Country Pumpkin fits the fall beer bill with a big nose of pumpkin and the typical spice rack for a special aromatic treat. The beer keeps it's beer qualities though, featuring biscuit and caramel malt with light traces of earthy hops through the middle.
T - Crisp and refreshing, this ripe pumpkin beer piles on the caramel and biscuit malt with pumpkin and spice following closely. Country Pumpkin is a little hoppier than the usual pumpkin beer though, earthy notes and bitterness pulling through the finish.
M - Medium bodied and crisp-feeling, the spice flourishes over the tongue with moderate carbonation. Dry on the back end, this beer trails off with a nice balance of bitterness to counteract the sweet malt.
O - One of the better, more balanced pumpkin beers out there this season, Ithaca's Country Pumpkin is a refreshing, drinkable pumpkin beer that offers a hefty dose of pumpkin and spice but keeps it real with plenty of malt flavor balanced by subdued hops. A wonderful fall treat!

Presentation: Country Pumpkin has an awesome eye-catching label with great colors and graphics. Label gives a bit of brewery info, best before date of 11/17/2013, states “the spirit of the Finger Lakes”. Cap has Ithaca logo, a bit of brewery info, web info, states “the spirit of the Finger Lakes”.
Appearance: An aggressive pour from its 12oz brown bottle into a 20oz English pint led to a 2 finger golden off-white head of a medium density atop a hazy orange/copper sediment laced beer. Head retention was 3min before fading to a thin coating and ring with OK lacing.
Smell/Aroma: Smell is very sweet with hints of nutty malts and pumpkin along with hints of ginger, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Flavor/Taste: Taste is of ginger, nutmeg, and all spice with hints of pumpkin on the front-end. Mid-point is dominated by a cinnamon bite and an ever more prevalent pumpkin flavor with a bit of sweet malt coming through for balance. Back-end is heavy on a sweet nutty maltiness and pumpkin flavors with a slight bit of bitterness. Aftertaste is of a nutty pumpkin.
MouthFeel/Drinkability: Country Pumpkin is on the full side of medium bodied with an above average amount of carbonation giving it a smooth finish. This is extremely drinkable and thirst quenching.
Overall/Comments: Country Pumpkin is one of the better Pumpkin Ales that I have had the pleasure of trying mostly because it is not overly sweet and not overly spiced making it very sessionable and easy drinking. I highly recommend trying it out! Classified as a Pumpkin Ale at 6.3% ABV. Consumed 12/12/2013.

12 ounce bottle with best before dating on the side of the label.
Pours cloudy, dull and murky darker amber, minimal head, no film collar and next to no lace. Meh look to this one.
Semi sweet pumpkin on the nose with some soft malt notes.
Soft and smooth on the tongue, this ale, has a mellowness and approach ability that has me wanting a few more sips after the bottle is done.
More pumpkin on the palate, but it s is nicely muted and well integrated into the mellow and malty rest of this beer.
Tasty, smooth and easy drinking. Decent pumpkin forward beer. A bit out of season and no doubt a bit passed its prime at the time of its consumption (now)....
