Pours a hazy orange with a thin, white head that dissipates quickly. Good lacing. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, pine, and some floral notes. Hint of dank. Taste is all about bitter. Sweet malt notes occasionally come through, but the resiny hop bitterness quickly reclaims your palate. Grapefruit, lemon, pine resin, tropical fruit, a lot going on palate-wise. Very delicious. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. Finishes dry and bitter. Overall, a very impressive DIPA from Ithaca.

Bottle, with thanks to Maria!

It pours a slightly hazy yellow orange with a very small head of foam that settles quickly to a broken layer. Despite the small and quick shrinkage, there's some good lacing to be had.

This is a very aromatic brew. Grapefruit, orange, tropical fruit like mango are permeating my nose buds. It has a very oily hoppy nose to it. Seeking out the malt is a fail for me but with all that hoppy goodness going on...

The taste really does bring what the smell more than suggested. All that hoppiness there in spades along with some sweetish malty notes and a hint or 2 of bread. Yum.

Medium body with a sort of light carbonation makes for a delightful mouthfeel.

This is a darn good DIPA. Easy drinking cuz the ample abv doesn't mess things up at all and it's so tasty.

12 oz bottle poured into mason jar

A: Yellow, straw and light orange. Translucent. 2 finger head that lingers to a slight lacing around the edge.

S: Big citrus, pineapple, papaya and earthy hop aromas mixed with very slight caramel malts on the backbone.

T: BIG hop flavor from start to finish. Almost no malt to speak of. Tropical fruits: mango, pineapple, papaya and a nice grassy, pine undertone. DIPA to the roots. Long lasting bitterness that leaves you wanting more and more.

M: Medium bodied, very drinkable.

O: Very solid DIPA. Ithaca never seems to disappoint. I definitely like this the most out of the 3 limited brews in the Box of Hops. Truly Flower Power's bigger brother, which has been one of my favorite IPA's for years. It is a nice west coast meets east coast DIPA. I truly hope they make offer this in a 4 pack or 6 pack, at the very least a bomber!

Box of Hops purchased at Wegmans in Pittsford, NY.

Pours a clear hazy yellow. Full fluffy head, 2 inches, globs of sticky lacing. Some floaties visible.

Smell is of equal amounts of citrus and pine. Very fresh and clean smelling.

Strong citrus here- grapefruit, mango, orange, and pineapple. So clean. Strong lingering bitterness is very welcome, and palate shredding. Don't drink anything else after this one.

Medium bodied, dry and crisp. Alcohol is well integrated and hidden.

Doesn't beat Flower Power for drinkability, but has more intense flavors for sure.

Pale orange in color and a bit murky. Poured with a short white foam that quickly reduced to wispy cap. Soft, fresh citrus and floral aromas with a hint of pine at the end. Aromas are very subtle. Medium bodied with a slick, oily feel over the top and tangy carbonation beneath. Big citrus grapefruit flavor up front followed by a spicy hop bite through the middle and pine hop bitterness at the end. Malty flavors make a brief appearance through the middle but this is a hop showcase. Finished dryly with lingering pine and floral hop bitterness.

From a bottle poured into a goblet. Hazy orange color with a light amount of head that settled to none very quickly. A light citrus smell with some orange notes, not an overpowering scent at all. Citrus, orange and other fruit flavors hide the alcohol that I tasted with the first couple sips. Minimal malt flavor that is nice. This is very light feeling with a little it of a bubblyness for having the an alcohol content of 9%. Very smooth and balanced with the flavor is not lasting on the tongue.

Overall this is an easy drinking 9% double IPA. I would consider it good, but it will not be one of my go to Dobule's.
