Located on Hwy 61 on the Lake side just as you enter Beaver Bay, a small little community helping out Silver Bay from bursting from the seems, yeah right, like that'll happen. This is a must stop for the food, it is awesome, large portions, home cooked, fresh, and all about the Northwoods. The only thing is it is a bit spendy, but the buffet for breakfast or lunch is a pretty good deal if your eyes are bigger then your stomach. The wild rice soup is my fav along with the North Shore Sampler that has a huge walleye fillet and a quiche thats yummy. The decor, the menu, the atmosphere, is all Northwoods, even down to the service with a smile and friendly help, plus the Minnesota ascent, eh. I would consider this more of a restaurant but it does have a small bar area right in front for smokers and they will serve you food in there so no big whoop. They recently added a fountian out front, a new enrty way, and a front eatery porch. It also has a wonderful enclosed back area for the fairer weather with lots of planes a nd a view of the Lake and a garden with plenty of flowers and things attracting birs of all kinds. They have a crazy bottle selection for the location with lots of imports, Guiness, Bass, Harp, Aass, Paulaner, New Castle, Fullers, Becks, and more. A few mircos, mostly the local MN stuff of Summit and Leine's, but also have Sierra Nevada, Sam Adams, Lake Superior, Big Sky, and a couple from South Shore. On-tap are the marcos but I've seen Summit and Lenie's handles but never ordered. Guaranteed great grubbin' food and service and a decent beer to boot, so stop in if you're on your way up or on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Watch for the hours to open and close, it changes with the tourist seasons.
