Excellent. Central waters does fantastic work with their cherries. The rye addition was superb. Honestly, this is just a notch under BCB Cherry Rye. Needs work no the body. But not far behind.

On tap at Central Waters' 17th Anniversary party.
A- Dark brown body; half finger mocha head with good staying power, surprisingly tenacious. Nice mocha collar that seems to respond well to swirling the glass.
S- Oak, chocolate, cherries. The cherries are nowhere near overpowering, but they are very hard to miss here. A bit of chocolate covered cherry flavour going on here. Not particularly complex; the rye is a bit subdued here.
F- The rye comes out a bit more as a spicy sweetness, mixed in with the chocolate malt and cherry juice flavours. It gets a bit more of a chocolate covered cherry flavour as it warms up, but never quite achieves what I think the brewers set out to achieve.
M- Medium body, nice velvety silky smooth mouthfeel that is quite nice. Good carbonation. A bit hot.
O- Interesting effort, I thought the bourbon barrel version bought more of a cherry flavour to the beer, but that isn't always a good thing. The flavours here meld well together, and I wonder if that is because the rye is more subtle than the bourbon can be.

Dexters tap takeover. Sweet roast aroma. Dark black medium thin body. Sweet chocolate taste with a teasing hint of cherry and rye. Tasty.
