2011 vintage, 6 oz. pour into a Firestone Walker-branded mini nonic.
A - Black/brown with a sand-colored one finger foam head retained nicely as a collar with decent legs.
S - Vanilla and oak, smooth caramel and a whiff of coffee. Not overpowering, but a remarkable, welcoming bouquet.
T - Follows the nose, but the barrel characteristics come to the fore a bit more. However, this is a staggeringly balanced beer, flavor-wise, with even a fair amount of hop bitterness falling in seamlessly with the charred oak and vanilla of the barrel and the chocolate, coffee, and stone fruits of the base imperial stout.
M - A tad thinner than I usually like for the style, but a nice, velvety, medium body with a lingering finish nonetheless.
O - Just an outstanding barrel-aged stout at any price, but the fact that a 4 pack costs half of what a 4 pack of BCBS or KBS goes for makes this an easy recommendation. If you see this, grab it.

Straight to the nitty gritty: no doubt, this is good. But the thing that doesn't make it great is that it is too sweet for me.
Now that Raul has that off of his thinly sculpted sized 38 chest...
Right when Raul cracked this bad boi, the aroma was a hell of a surprise like getting a Nintendo 64 on Christmas. Bourbon, vanilla, chocolate... Like Raul was touched by an angel, or a Victoria's Secret Model, really.
Let's move on, shall we?
Even if she is devilishly beautiful, if she's too clingy, that's definitely a flaw. And with this beautiful beast, is a touch of sweetness that is a bit over the top for the Raul man.
Everything else is pretty much Thanksgiving gravy - actually, it's a bit thin in the mouth, but Raul has said his peace.
