12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
A - Great clarity to this dark brown yet translucent beer. Head is just barely off-white and holds a tiny cap of foam. Some spotty lacing.
S - Smooth chocolate malt, a depth of honey-like sweetness. Quite aromatic and fresh.
T - Dark malt is smooth and balanced out with a distinguished earthy/piney hop flavor. No sweetness to speak of. Hop are the dominant flavor component and lend considerable bitterness on the backend and in the aftertaste, also a little bit burnt malt.
M - Medium body, medium-light carbonation, semi-dry.
O - Great aroma and look. Flavor swung to far towards hoppy for the style. I could use a touch of sweetness and more dimension of malt. Feel was close. This is the only Central Waters beer I would pass up.
Judgement - Pass on it. Decent brew but not worth going out of your way for.

Pours a cola like brown with very little head. Makes me a bit concerned about this bottle, as the label says it should form a large head.
The smell is mainly chocolate, maybe a bit of malt and vanilla as well.
Quite a bit of chocolate up front, there's some fruit and coffee, finishes with a bit of lingering hop bitterness.
A touch on the thin side, but the carbonation keeps it interesting and lets me know my concern about the lack of head is unfounded.
Overall a pretty nice beer. I consider it to be a dessert beer, as it reminds me a bit of chocolate cake or a brownie. It's maybe a touch heavy on the hops, but still goes down fairly easily. Glad I took a chance on this one.
