A: Pours near black (very dark brown) with a dark tan head that fizzles away to form a ring around my glass that sticks around and leaves spotty lacing.

S: Coffee, you can't miss it. Sweet, roasted dark malts.

T: Tastes very similar to how it smells, loads of coffee compliment a very nice stout base. It leaves some of that black coffee bitterness and you can taste the acidity from the coffee. The coffee itself tastes like a high quality, medium roast that is very bright and very fresh. The back of my tongue clings onto coffee and dark chocolate. This is 8.2%??? Alcohol is NOWHERE in sight.

M: Medium. Not super thick, but not thin either. Coats the mouth well. Good carbonation.

One of the best, if not the best, coffee stouts I've had. It tastes remarkably similar to New Glarus's Coffee Stout, but bolder, stronger, and thicker. This is a coffee lovers beer all the way.

Review #666 for this beer. \m/
Anyway.

Poured into a CW bell tulip of course. Dark brown-black stout color, with a foamy marshmallow white head that receded to a wispy layer, and laced the glass randomly. The aroma was definitely the highlight of this one for me, the coffee flowing out as soon as I uncapped it, lesser notes of caramel malts, toasted bread. Roasty taste, dark malts, smooth coffee, that was neither too overpowering nor too subtle, nicely balanced; a little sensation of herbal hops gave a dry and somewhat tea-like finish. Smooth mouthfeel, easy drinkability, medium mouthfeel that wasn't quite as full as I'd like for the style. Overall a nice coffee beer.

22oz bomber poured into Duvel tulip.

A: Pours near-black with large, foamy tan head.

S: Intense roasted coffee aroma, accompanied by caramel and molasses.

T: Tastes much like coffee smells. Sweet, with a lot of roasted coffee and caramel.

M: Thinner than expected. Incredibly smooth.

O: A great coffee stout! Extremely drinkable, huge amount of coffee flavor. Affordable at $7/bomber.

Served cellar temp in a Tyranena snifter

A - pours an opaque black, foamy mocha head which fades to a thin ring

S - wow, the nose is one of the most intense coffee aromas I've had from a beer. hints of crackery malt linger behind

T - Coffee again dominates, nice and roasty, but not overly so, with dark chocolate chips that follow

M - I'd have to say that this has a bit more body than I'm used to from CW, which is a good thing, as they often seem a bit thin

O - Great coffee stout, quite drinkable, and one heck of a deal (I think it was $6.99 for a bomber?). Glad I grabbed a couple of these.

650 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Black but not completely opaque. Nice khaki head. Thick collar.

Smell - Nice coffee aroma. Creamy milk chocolate. Some deeper roasted malts.

Taste - Coffee is prevalent, but not domineering. Slightly sweet. Chocolate malts. Creamy. The finish loses its creaminess and bitter coffee lingers.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. No coffee acidity. Medium carbonation.

Overall - Very flavorful. Extremely well made stout.
