Has this at the blue dog.
Appears deep dark brown with a smallish tan head but well maintained throughout. There is some lacing here and there. By tilting the glass this way and that I was able to rustle up some more foamy head and also to gage the attenuation which appears to be well carbonated.
The aroma is as one might expect: rich malts highly roasted, bittersweet chocolates and black coffee. The coffee aroma is the most pronouned, but aroma is also well balanced.
Taste is again what you might expect, highly roasted malts almost to the put of being burnt, rich bittersweet chocolate and coffee, rich black coffee. Hints of nuts and molasses too can be tasted.
A thick bodied beer here with a hint of creaminess before turning slightly dry. Towards the end soft alcohol warming is present.
A good coffee stout not a show stopper but good.

Thanks yet again to Andrew for the bottle.
Pours jet black, ring of off white head, no lace to speak of. Smell is of coffe and roast, chocolate both of the milk and dark variety, not a lot more going on but still a seemless blend of coffee, roast and chocolate. Taste is of coffee and roast, faint bit of char, chocolate, moderate bitterness throughout coming from both chocolate and hops, ashy/char/roast aftertaste. Lightly carbonated, medium full body. A great coffee stout that should be held in the same regard as Peche Mortel and FBS, something I would very much like to revisit again.
