This beer had an endearing glowing scarlet red appearance about it. Nice dirty white head sitting on top with good retention. Lacing was quite sufficient. Nose was very nice. Great caramel and toasted malts mingled with some spiciness coming from hops. The palate followed suit in a big way with the nose. Great caramel and toasted malt qualities. Spicy hops. A little citric. A little doughiness coming from the yeast quite possibly. This was one enjoyable amber ale. One of the best ones I've had in quite some time and one of the better ones I've had ever. (559 characters)

12oz bottle obtained via trade with Skidz. Thanks for the opportunity...

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed 3/4" of beige head over the slightly reddish copper brew. Aroma is well-balanced, seeming to end up a bit on the malty side. Taste is also well-balanced, still leaning towards the malt a bit, but I would expect a bit more hoppiness for a red. Mouthfeel and drinkability are both good, and maybe drinkability is even a bit higher. Goes down smooth and easy. (475 characters)

I have been looking for Central Waters brews for quite awhile so I was pleased to discover this beer at a local store. However, after tasting this beer I was left unimpressed and hope that their other beers are better than this.

The beer poured a hazy copper color with no head of foam. The beer was rather bland ala Killian's red. No real malty taste and nothing spectaculor to speak of. (391 characters)

Pours a dark amber bown with a thin white head with nice lacing. Aroma is stricly hops here as with most Central Waters brews. Slight citrus notes as well. Tastes of citrusy hops and thats about it.. not too impressive. Drys out the mouth but goes down smoothly. Pretty drinkable brew, but nothing too amazing. (310 characters)

Pours out dark copper with a small head that fades fast to the sides. Smells of hops and some citrus. When put to mouth, this beer doesn't live up to expectations. The citrus tones combined with a slight bitterness rip through this leaving your tounge feel like it was just attached to a 9volt battery. I did like the way it ran around my mouth, as it was particularly smooth and refreshing. I could drink a couple of these at a time, but not many more. (453 characters)

Overly murky copper with a short-lived bone-colored head.
Citrus hops overlay some mustiness on the nose.
Decent intially (and cold), as the hopping is in control. Somewhat sharpe and citric, though not very bitter. Touches of burnt crust, raisin and chocolate in the background.
Once this begins to warm, it udderly collapses. Becomes mushy, yet harsh and astringent. Gauze-pad like medicinals. Encroaching and invasive tartness. Earthy mud-like qualities replace the chocolate and the hops are muted.

Drink this fast and cold or feel its wrath. A let down from Central Waters. (586 characters)

Malty aroma mostly, that is a little sweet with some fruity aspects. Steady medium sized head with yellowish-brownish hue. Clear red-amber color. Lighter overall flavor, mostly a soft malt taste with some mild bitterness lingering on the front of the tongue. Nice smoothness overall, medium feel with carbonation in medium range too. Not an overwhelmingly good beer, but I tend to like this style with food and this would do fine. (435 characters)
