I drank this beer two days in a row, and had two different tasting experiences. On the first day I drank the beer slightly warmer then I would have liked. On this day, the beer was very hoppy. The hops were very floral and almost sweet. I enjoyed the level of hops but thought the beer was not so easy going down. The second day I drank the beer a little colder then I would have liked. Also, due to location, I drank the beer straight from the bottle this day. I experienced a much maltier beer this day. The hops were only detectable as an aftertaste. I did enjoy the malt flavors but was looking forward to the hops flavors I experienced the previous day and didn't get those. Overall, this is a very drinkable local beer. Not too hoppy, not too malty.

Thanks to exiled for sharing this beer.

The beer pours a golden orange color with a white head. The aroma is citrus hops but not as strong as I would have liked. The flavor is citrus hops with some medium bitterness. The flavor and aroma are both slightly subdued. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into tall glass.

Appearance: Hazy orange and moderate cream colored head with bubbly lacing.

Smell: Citrus, sweet toasted malt, dry spiciness.

Taste: Dry citrus (orange and grapefruit) with dry toasted and tea-like malts. Ends with a fairly high level of spicy bitterness and maybe a touch of pine. Something about it does not mesh quite as well as I would like, and it is simply too bitter compared to the relative lack of flavor.

Feel: Relatively low carbonation, moderate firm body, dry finish. Have I mentioned it's dry yet?

Drinkability: Somewhat of a unique take on an American IPA as it seems to have English Bitter qualities, both in the taste and the feel. Pretty solid overall, but probably not worth returning to considering the number of fine IPAs out there.

A little bit darker than most, this one approaches light brown territory. Lots of chunky yeast floaties from this one. Aroma could have been hoppier, was expecting hoppier.

Caramel, woodsiness, high bitterness, low if any floral hop aspect at any point. Malty all over the place. Bitterness hits often and hard.

This is so far from the usual quality of CW's stuff. Don't hold this one beer against them. Just doesn't come across as a good ipa to me, much less an ipa.

Poured a nice cloudy copper color with a good amount of slightly off-white head. Light hop aroma, not a lot else going on there. This beer has good hop flavor with some bready malts complimenting that. Good taste overall. Medium mouthfeel, goes down smooth though. This is any enjoyable IPA, very good overall and a good go to beer to have on hand.

A hazed golden brew that looks more like an unfiltered cider then an IPA.  The head is a pillow of soft cream colored fluff that barely sticks to the glass.  I've seen better.

The nose is weak, leaning towards a brittish ale rather then an IPA.  Not much in the way of hops or grain.  The disappointing smell is a little metallic and sour.

Taste is in the same realm of sour and weak.  It's not as bad as the nose with a rebound of hop flavor and malt lingering in the finish.

I find myself bored with this brew.  The flavor isn't enough to keep me really interested and the mouthfeel is a little soft too.  Mild carbonation and touch of hop bitterness is about all that's interesting in this brew.  Very middle of the road and in the land of ipa's that's not good enough.

Bottled on date: Oct / Nov

Poured into a pint glass, hazy with a lighter shade of amber. I got a finger of light tan head that settles to a bubbly layer leaving nice lacing on the glass. Some citrus notes in the nose, along with sweet caramel malts - fairly mild aromas. Interesting, I get more of a piney / herbal hop flavor than the smell would lead me to believe. Slightly bitter finish but nothing that lingers - kinda bland actually, really confusing. Fairly light bodied and thin for the style, adequate carbonation, and a bit dry.

Toasted golden amber with a faint ruby sheen. Tiny jets of CO2 feed a massive, sculptable, never-ending, beige dome. And it laces something filthy.
The nose exudes pine, pulpy grasses, rusty tin, and orange and lime rinds. The hops are fairly loud upfront, but decay gradually to allow a toasty malt component to emerge.
This toasted malt is where the taste begins. It starts and stays on the dry side with English muffins and almonds. But a sweetness does swell up, comprised of caramel and pear. It turns woody midway, bringing some oak-like tannins. The hops do not manifest as loudly or as resinously as they did in the nose. Here, they accent more floral and dry grassy and fallen pine needle tones, along with some bittering notions of mint leaf, alum, rust and rock dust.
Even with the visually evident carbonation, this drinks like a cask pull, glassy and sleek. I like this build a lot, even if it teeters a hair towards the thin side.
This isn't a world beater, but it is very enjoyable. It's also a very balanced IPA. There are some quirks here that place it out of the norm, mostly for the better. It's not for everyone, though. There's a bit of English-styled flair in there, even if it is aptly labeled as American. It's something of a tweener, but the more I drink of it, the more I like it and the more I'm reminded of Meantime IPA and that's pretty strong company.
