12 oz. bottle, with bottled on date October 03, 2013 printed on the label in code, 27613. It's been a long time coming since I've last had this beer, so I figured it was time to revisit it. Acquired this bottle as part of a mixed six pack at the local beer store.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a nice bright coppery orange colored body with just over a finger of fluffy creamy off-white head. Some thin scattered lacing. Looks pretty good.

S - Bright floral and earthy hoppiness, some soapiness, some cream, a bit of husky grainy malt, some breadiness, and some fruity yeasty esters when I look for them. Smells very nice.

T - Taste is of sweet caramelized malts, brown sugar, some yeasty green apple, a bit of dry husky grains, herbal piney earthiness, some grapefruit rind & bitterness. Pretty nice, if somewhat average.

M - Feel is smooth and creamy, with some juicy resinous pine / grapefruit hop bitterness lingering on the palate. A sticky, semi-dry finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation.

Overall, a nice IPA, if somewhat slightly above average. Nothing too extreme, although Central Waters makes some fine brews and this one is no exception. Easy drinking and lots of flavor for 5.50% abv.

Pours a large, dense, white head that has good retention and laces well. Straw-amber color. A slight, grapefruit-like aroma. Starts with a nice hop bitterness and a bright, citric flavor, and then the malt comes through, drifting back to hop bitterness (citrus rind) in the finish.

Not bad. Nothing that really stands out, but I appreciate the added maltiness. I like it.

poured 22oz bottle into snifter. Bottle dated 27613, which I assume is 10/3/13.

A - Clearish light coppercolor and a good 2 finger white head. Fades into a collar that leaves behind webbed lacing.

S - Earthy and floral hops with light bitter notes. There is some odd smell for the malt sweetness. Not quite what I expect for an IPA.

T - Um what? I really wanted to like this, but I am getting some odd flavors. You think of caramel malt or honey sweetness in IPAs, but I am getting, sweet corn flavor. I'm not joking. The hops are medium bitter, with some floral and earthy notes.

M - Light bodied and easy to drink. Not a big biter presence on the palate.

O - Sigh, I was hoping that this would be an IPA I could drink regularly, but it just did not work for me. CW, you do make some amazing beer, this just wasn't one of them.
