Taster at Buffalo Rd location. Dark brown, small off-white head. Not picking up any peated malts in the aroma or taste, actually it seems more like a brown ale. Nutty, roasty, minor sweetness.

Pours like the color of bourbon with thin tan head that quickly fades. Nose reminds me of a Vienna lager as does the taste however not as creamy. This has a caramel flavor to it with a peppery finish. Good beer.

Reddish-brown with a coarse light tan head. Odd aroma, chemical & fermented malt. Barely sweet with flavors of fermented malt, caramel, biscuit, Smoke & ripe fruit. A bit thin & weak on carbonation but enough of an alcohol kick. Overall: pretty good.

Solid malty, slightly sweet ale. pairs well with red meat or bbq. The Color is good. inviting semi sweet smell. The ale is lightly Bubbly and has good flavor. Will buy again.

Old copper penny with a moderate cream colored head that dissolves into a ring and island, laces nicely
Faint aromas of caramel and some toffee, that's about it
Taste follows the aroma with caramel, toffee, some multi-grain bread
Light medium body, light carbonation, slightly sweet, slightly sticky finish
Light bodied for the style and lacking any real depth, not bad but also not satisfying

Copper with a 1" cream colored head, which lasts. Moderate lacing.
Aroma of sweet caramel. That's all my snoz is getting.
Taste is caramel, nuts, slight sweetness.
Thin to medium body, light carbonation. Semisweet finish.
While the label says full body, it seems a bit thin to me.

(16 oz can, 6.9% abv, BESTBY 11/02/21; purchased cold 4-pack from the brewery... poured into my new Genesee 9 oz tasting glass)
L: liquid a bit pale for a Scotch ale: dark tawny, cedar-water hue; more brown than red... amply carbonated, as evidenced by an eager welling up of foam with each top-off; collar keeps, lacing a little
S: singed wood overtone, molasses soda undertone; definitely a nutty brown bread core... not explosively fragrant; molasses brown bread all the way; appealing overall
T: honestly, more of a woody, slightly more caramelly bock; underbelly is quite clean and dry, with a heavy toast accenting the finish... a few sips in, and it seems the profile wavers between a (doppel/dunkel)bock and a hybrid 90/- and (American?) Brown Ale... a delicate residual sweetness does build, making a mark halfway through the can, maybe it's most on point characteristic to its namesake
F: subtly silky contour up front, slight residual drag through the finish... bit of sizzle, but otherwise a quiet fade away, and (via stealth ethanol) a relatively flat/level, dry afterglow; notably quick, light, drinkable
O: had this on tap (full 16 oz pint) at the Railroad St. location (first visit), and it was as striking then as it is here, in that it doesn't immediately scream 'Scotch Ale', but rather an industrialized, pared-down, purely-American, but altogether arguably more accessible mock take on one... a love child of Shiner Bock, Yuengling, and a winter warmer? It's sweet and malty, with a molt of caramel, brown sugar, roasted grains, wet wheat bread, nutty notes and a smoky aftertaste. The nose is a muddled sweet malty expo with some biscuit and herbs sneaking through the caramel sweetness. Nothing exciting, but it was a nice fall beer that went down easy enough on a nice cool evening.

Can to thistle glass. Bottom of the can stamped "10/29/19."
The appearance was a rich dark amber/brown color with a sturdy finger and a half's worth of eggshell white foamy head. It dissipated inward and left some concave lace.
The aroma was absolutely amazing! Holy shitsticks and a half! Such a blend of sweet apple flesh and wood with smooth smoke and a big peaty character melding with a swell amount of earthy/grassy/herbal tones.
The flavor was just as good! All of that sweet smoky, peaty and herbal tones. Applewood comes back in for a fabulous balance! Such a smooth earthy/herbal/grassy toned aftertaste with the smokiness and the peat perfecting themselves on a touch of caramel malt.
The mouthfeel was just as awesome as what I have already noticed. A medium to full bodied scotch ale with a fine sipping quality about. Some dryness and a touch of stickiness on my tongue, nothing cloying. Low carbonation as expected. Finishes nicely with the smoke, peat and applewood dryness.
Overall, hot damn! Mad at myself for not getting the full four pack, I didn't know this was going to be this good!
