Semi-clear amber-orange with an off-white foam head of moderate height.

This one has apple juice and peach threads with faint touches of spontaneous spice behind some biscuit that itself is far in the background.

After barreling through all kinds of far more mature lambic this week, Mort Subite comes across as kiddie table stuff. That's not a bad thing if your palate prefers it, but it's just too simplistic for me.

Difficult to review as this was a 1950 vintage (70 years) well past it’s prime. Murky brown appearance completely still from years of oxidation. The Gueuze characteristics have left this beer, with the exception of slight remaining notes of oak. Fun to try but past it’s prime.

330ml bottle poured into a Guinness pint. Color is orange body with a thin head fading fast.

Aroma: Tart; fruity; apple-cider-like

Taste: Very smooth; almost like Strong-Bow cider; delicious and refreshing.

Overall: Gueuze and Lambic beers are not normally my thing, but this one was quite good for a great price point. Cheers!

Look: clear dark golden. Ominously dark (caramel is coming).
Smell: funk and fruit.
Taste: it's sour definitely, but way too sweet. It almost feels like a fruit lambic without any distinguishable fruit (besides the trademark green apple).
Feel: good as expected. Light, fizzy... as it should be.
Overall: rather disappointed. Can't see myself buying it again.

Not sure if this is "Mort Subit Geuze Lambic".

Quick thoughts: beer was sweet as a Dark, too much Belgian candi present.

The aroma was also very sweet. Every other aspect was nominal.

L: pours bright amber with masses of bubbles rapidly rising from the bottom of the glass. Champagne-like carbonation kicks up a 1/2" white foam cap that dissappears almost as fast as it forms.

S: The nose has a wonderful funky barnyard aroma combined with fruit, over ripe fruit and old socks. Funky but not overpowering or harsh.

T:Very rich fruity palate with a fine balance between sweet and sour. The sweetness is just enough to keep the tartness from becoming puckering and helps accentuate the fruit flavors that suggest plum, berry and maybe gooseberry. Traces of diacetyl. Moderate and lemony tartness.

F: Medium light body, medium high carbonation.

O: pleasant and very drinkable.

.25 bottle. Kobbegem sign. Looks golden in the glass. Nice Aroma of grapes and sweet Fruit Juice. good taste sweet and sour. I can taste the spontanious yeast+sour fermentation style...But too much sugar added in my opinion. ..
