Pours a pinkish-orange colour with huge white head. Nice lacing around the glass. Smells of sweet raspberry, almost like a raspberry pie. Flavour is quite tart from the raspberry. I really get nothing but raspberry, but it still is delicious. Nice carbonation level. Really easy to drink and I get to the end of the bottle before I realize. A bit expensive in Ontario at over $4 a bottle though.

A - Pale orange color, bright and clear. Little apparent carbonation. Orangish, creamy head with a good retention and really beautiful lacing. The appearance magnificent.

S - Light aromas. Definitely some strawberries, some sugar, and a distinct smell from lambics. Very subtle hop.

T - A good balance between the sweet and the sour taste. It's very fruity and refreshing.

M - Excellent carbonation. The sourness linger before a gentle hop bite that concludes the experience.

O - A very drinkable lambic. nicely refreshing and close to style. In my opinion, the smell is a bit disappointing.

Sorry but this following comment is in french :

Appearance : Rousse tirant sur le cuivre, voilée.
Smell : L'arome de cette bière met en relief la framboise, très concentrée, et la cave humide, le foudre de chêne.
Taste and mouthfeel : La framboise est très présente, mais jamais trop sucrée.
Drinkability : Pour un lambic édulcoré, c'est une bonne bière

I tried this beer on November 15, 2007 at "Smokeless Joe's" in Toronto. The beer poured a nice red into the glass with a huge frothy white head that did not want to go away. The aroma was heavy on the raspberry. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, and heavily carbonated...but not quite champagne-like. The flavour was that of a small amount of hops combined with a lot of raspberries.

Color is red, slightly dark. Nice foamy head on top of it. It sticks quite well to the glass. Dense head too. The aroma is fruity... mainly strawberries but very sugary... probably juice instead of real strawberries. As the ingredient list says... its juice, not real strawberries. Slightly sour. Taste is good, quite sugary and the sourness is almost not present. Thus if you hate sourness of lambic, this one has none! To me this is good as well as those very acidic lambics. Its different, but still very enjoyable.

Cheers all!

Pours a hazy rusty red hue with two fingers of creamy white head that displays excellent retention and leaves sheets upon sheets of sticky lace.

The nose is great with strong notes of fresh rasberry, black currants, a bit of purple grape juice, and a light bready backbone.

Tart rasberries dominate the palate with some black currant sweetness to balance it out, but the tartness manages to linger to the end. Very light bread in the back, further adding to its balance.

Mouthfeel is highly carbonated, and quite syrupy, allowing the taste to linger. The low ABV and sweet but unoffending taste make this a very easy drinker.

This marks my first lambic and I thoroughly enjoyed it (even though according to other reviews this isn't a true lambic). A great balance is made between the beers tart aspects and its sweet ones. This one has been in front of me since I started seriously drinking beer, and I can't believe I never picked this one up earlier. If you're in the mood for a sweet treat in the form of a beer, make sure you grab one of these.

Not real sure I am drinking beer but this is a good Dr Brown's soda...Pours a light red/pinkish with carbonation and slight head. Some mild lacing occurs. Smell fruity-definitely better than the cherry version. Taste is like a raspberry, not too malty. Mouth feel is rich and velvety, light bodied and carbonated. I could drink a few of these, but maybe not during the big game.

A: 100% opaque looking purple-ish colored beer. Head has not much volume, retention is low and lacing is ok. Head is light pink.

S: Well, it smells like raspberry juice. I think it is a witbier base and it has a light typical lemon and pepper. Some oak like smell too and faint vanilla. Sweet and lightly sour. Strong smell, but straightforward.

T: Strong true raspberry taste with definitive oak and vanilla. Lemon and pepper are still there. Almost same thing as the smell.

M: Super light mouthfeel with high carbonation. Correct.

D: High, drinks just as easily as raspberry juice. It is so close to actual raspberries, I got a piece of raspberry in the beer.

Apparently the Affligem glass comes close to what Mort Subite uses in their advertising, so that's what I poured it into. I thought it funny that it poured a light, peach colour but was much darker in the glass with a dark cherry hue. I could just barely see my finger on the other side of the glass. The one finger head was a dusty rose colour with some beige. Initially some incessant bubbling coming from the centre-bottom of the glass, side glass carbonation not so fizzy. Very nice lacing indeed.

I can smell fresh berries, a bit of watermelon. It sure tastes like raspberries alright, semi-sweet but inoffensive; crisp on the finish. The mouthfeel and taste have just the right balance of tartness, again a hint of watermelon. The taste and mouthfeel were closer to 3.75 in my estimation. I was looking for a hint of rotting fruit or sourness but there wasn't any. On the other hand, the refreshing acidity took away from a better finish and I kept thinking it was so much like a fruit punch or a soda pop. I expected more complexity and didn't get it.

I'm not all that familiar with lambics but I could easily substitute one of these for a dessert wine anyday: it was pleasant and fun to sip on and just might be a great conversation piece for your guests after dinner if they're game to broaden their beer horizons.

Paid almost $5 from the LCBO for this. Ive had it before but i remember it being cheaper.

A: pale rouge color with nice head with excellent retention - likely due to the sugar content.

S: Dosent smell like beer but smells very nice. raspberries dominates the nose of course.

T: again not much beer taste here - whatever malts and hops are in this are overpowered by the sweet taste of raspberries. This is definitely a desert beer. I enjoy the slight sour finish.

M: light and refreshing. not too sticky given the sugar content.

D: At the risk of looking "fruity", id easily enjoy a few of these in public and not be put off by the flavors - not to mention id save a few bucks on cab fare since I could legaly drive home if I spaced them out well.

Pours a reddish-muddy colour, topped with a generous and creamy two-finger head that slowly seeps away over many minutes. Tons of lacing on the sides. The aroma on this stuff is powerful - as soon as I popped the top, I instantly got a whiff of tart raspberries. The brew itself smells even more strongly like this, and I must admit I do like it. Other than this I can't really pinpoint any odours confidently; maybe a bit of wheaty malt.

The taste is much the same as the smell - lots of raspberries, juicy sweetness and a bit of tartness during the sip, with some sourness in the finish as well that lingers for a second. The same wheaty malt is barely detectable underneath the fruitiness, but it's there and reminds me that this is in fact a beer and not juice or cider. Light to medium-light bodied, with a bit of spritzy carbonation. Slightly syrupy, with some stickiness in the mouth afterward. Tasty and very drinkable.

This is my first lambic, but it won't be my last. A nice change of pace, and definitely worth a try. I may get this again, but the price means it won't be a common purchase.
