Pours a hazy, jam-like rusty ruby colour, with a loose but generous head that gets retained as a collar and leaves a fair amount of lacing.

Smells like deep raspberry, honey-sweetened muffin-like malts and fresh water.

The taste is like sour raspberry jam; it has a solid fruit foundation with a syrupy sweetness and a buttery note before going tart and then sour.

Medium-bodied with a prickly carbonated feeling and a smooth creaminess that's almost like cream soda. A bit dry on the tongue and leaves a slight resin note in the aftertaste.

More sour than I expected, almost like a geuze and really does have a buttery jam-like quality. This was my first Framboise and I think I prefer Krieks.

Pours a reddish brown with a foamy head that has a pinkish hue. The head retention is very good.

The smell is all raspberry, quite tart raspberry. Makes my mouth water a little bit. After a few more smells I start to find a bit of mustiness underlying.

The taste is loaded with raspberry, but at once it is sweet, tart and sour. The finish is fairly high in sourness, and leaves me salivating a little. Tasty, but seems to be all over the place.

The mouthfeel is like pop, a little bit syrupy and high in carbonation. No complaints.

Tasty, but not something to have very often. Once in a while a bottle to split with another person would be alright.

375ml Bottle from the Ottawa LCBO for $4

Appearance - Burgundy colour with an average size fizzy/frothy pinkish white head. There is an average amount of carbonation showing and there is some great lacing. The head lasted for 3-4 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Raspberries, citric

Taste & Mouth - There is an above average amount of carbonation and I can taste malts, citric notes and raspberries. There is also sugary sweet candy flavour and it ends with a lightly tart aftertaste.

Overall - A pretty decent brew that is easily available to me. Maybe a touch too much like a swedish berry candy. Just comes across a little too sweet and a little artificial tasting.

Chilled 250ml dark glass bottle poured into a flute glass.

Pours with a bubbly fingers worth of head and the body is deep red towards rust blend. Lacing is surprisingly more sticky than a lot of strong ales.

Interestingly this leads you to expect a heavy serve of raspberry however what you do get is a saturated blackcurrant aroma. Regardless of how you may feel about Lambics there is no denying that this thing smells great.

Taste is of course heavily characterized by Raspberry and similar berry fruit but sweet malt and baked doughy bread yeast ads a familiar twist.

On the mouth its tart with fruit taste and mousse towards champagne like smoothness.

Stay away if you hate lambics because this is almost a text book example but if your open to new things or a fan of the style then this is definitely worthy of your dollar and time

Got this as a Christmas gift from visiting friends. Served in a champagne flute. Best before June 2010 - not sure how old that makes this bottle.

A - Pinky-orange color, with huge slowly dissipating head and lots of lace. Lots of bubbles in this one.

S - Raspberries, but with a strong undercurrent of acidity that's mildly unpleasant and slightly boozy (which is really weird considering the low ABV). A little bit of a one-trick pony.

T - Raspberry juice - a faint tang of yeast and more tart fruit (cranberry, grapefruit). It's not bad, but it ain't no Raspberry Tart.

M - Light and tingly, with that sticky residue afterward. Very refreshing.

D - Easy drinking at 4.5%. The carbonation and sweetness might get a bit off-putting after a while, but otherwise it goes down easy.

I prefer my lambics without added sugar/sweeteners. Give me a Cantillon please.

Best before: 2/20/15.

Pours a murky dark crimson with a foamy reddish-white head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with raspberry, raspberry juice, and acidic aromas. Taste is much the same with sweet and sour raspberry and raspberry juice flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with some nice sour raspberry characteristics that shine through the artificial sweetener used in this one.

Serving type: bottle.

Served from a caged and corked bottle to a tulip.

A: Raspberry red in color topped with a two finger pinkish head comprised of large bubbles. Very transparent.

S: Raspberries , definitely. Not too artificial either.

T: Once again raspberries are definitely the most prominent flavor. Not overly artificial as with some fruit beers either. Nice and tart making it somewhat refreshing but not overly sour. Some slight wheat malt and yeast characters as well.

M: Very light body with high carbonation also help to make the beer refreshing.

O: Pretty good beer but not exactly my fancy. My first introduction to lambics but I feel as though it was not entirely like a lambic should be.

Big thanks to my friend Jen for the birthday gift!

Pours a hazed pinkish orange, thick voluminous light pink head forms, soapy and huge, very slowly settles down to a thick layer, drops a ton of lace on the glass. Smell is fresh raspberry juice, not much else, light hay, horse blanket, some lemony acidity, bit of wheat/bread, mostly just a pleasant raspberry juice. Taste is very sugary and sweet at first, brown sugar, very sweet raspberry juice, some honey and bread through the middle, ripe berries and light tartness in the finish. Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium to high carbonation, goes down easy, although a bit on the sweet side I like it. Thanks Jen!

A - Pale orange color, bright and clear. Little apparent carbonation. Orangish, creamy head with a good retention and really beautiful lacing. The appearance magnificent.

S - Light aromas. Definitely some strawberries, some sugar, and a distinct smell from lambics. Very subtle hop.

T - A good balance between the sweet and the sour taste. It's very fruity and refreshing.

M - Excellent carbonation. The sourness linger before a gentle hop bite that concludes the experience.

O - A very drinkable lambic. nicely refreshing and close to style. In my opinion, the smell is a bit disappointing.

Not real sure I am drinking beer but this is a good Dr Brown's soda...Pours a light red/pinkish with carbonation and slight head. Some mild lacing occurs. Smell fruity-definitely better than the cherry version. Taste is like a raspberry, not too malty. Mouth feel is rich and velvety, light bodied and carbonated. I could drink a few of these, but maybe not during the big game.

Sorry but this following comment is in french :

Appearance : Rousse tirant sur le cuivre, voilée.
Smell : L'arome de cette bière met en relief la framboise, très concentrée, et la cave humide, le foudre de chêne.
Taste and mouthfeel : La framboise est très présente, mais jamais trop sucrée.
Drinkability : Pour un lambic édulcoré, c'est une bonne bière

A: 100% opaque looking purple-ish colored beer. Head has not much volume, retention is low and lacing is ok. Head is light pink.

S: Well, it smells like raspberry juice. I think it is a witbier base and it has a light typical lemon and pepper. Some oak like smell too and faint vanilla. Sweet and lightly sour. Strong smell, but straightforward.

T: Strong true raspberry taste with definitive oak and vanilla. Lemon and pepper are still there. Almost same thing as the smell.

M: Super light mouthfeel with high carbonation. Correct.

D: High, drinks just as easily as raspberry juice. It is so close to actual raspberries, I got a piece of raspberry in the beer.

Pours a pinkish-orange colour with huge white head. Nice lacing around the glass. Smells of sweet raspberry, almost like a raspberry pie. Flavour is quite tart from the raspberry. I really get nothing but raspberry, but it still is delicious. Nice carbonation level. Really easy to drink and I get to the end of the bottle before I realize. A bit expensive in Ontario at over $4 a bottle though.

Color is red, slightly dark. Nice foamy head on top of it. It sticks quite well to the glass. Dense head too. The aroma is fruity... mainly strawberries but very sugary... probably juice instead of real strawberries. As the ingredient list says... its juice, not real strawberries. Slightly sour. Taste is good, quite sugary and the sourness is almost not present. Thus if you hate sourness of lambic, this one has none! To me this is good as well as those very acidic lambics. Its different, but still very enjoyable.

Cheers all!

pours a nice ruby red colour with a huge fluffy pink head. the head drops slowly and leaves tons of clumpy lace.

aroma is good. strong tart raspberry. slightly sweet. bit of funk.

taste is good. lots of raspberry. tart and sweet. bittersweet chocolate. tobacco. not much funk.

mouthfeel is good. fairly dry, but with a nice body. the fairly high carbonation level works well.

drinkability is good. the sweetness takes away from the drinkability a little, but it's a nice beer.

A: The beer is clear reddish amber in color and has a light amount of carbonation. It poured with a finger high pink head that took a long time to die down and left lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of raspberries are present in the nose.
T: Very much like the smell, the taste is dominated by flavors of raspberries and has a slight amount of sweetness.
M: It feels light-,bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This lambic has nice aromas and flavors of raspberries that don't taste artificial or that sweet. I would consider getting this beer again.
