a beautiful clean ruby red pour with 2 fingers of pink colored head, slow dissipation, and lots of lacing left behind. i have never seen a lambic so bright and vibrant. traces of wheat are still recognizable over all the delicious smelling berries.. not sure what elderberry is supposed to smell like, but what i smell is wonderful, definitely getting raspberry as well. wow, this is a wonderful flavor in a beer.. almost tastes like children's medicine but very subtle-like.. a sweetness from the malt and fruit, lots of tart and acids from the berries.. just wonderful really. the only thing i can compare it to is new glarus raspberry tart, but i don't remember it being this tart. it's been a year or so - i may need to refresh my mind. medium body, medium carbonation - tart and refreshing.

this is a wonderful fruit lambic.. not too much of a hit on the wallet either, this could be a nice treat once in a while. definitely pick this up and give it a shot.

Served from a caged and corked bottle to a tulip.

A: Raspberry red in color topped with a two finger pinkish head comprised of large bubbles. Very transparent.

S: Raspberries , definitely. Not too artificial either.

T: Once again raspberries are definitely the most prominent flavor. Not overly artificial as with some fruit beers either. Nice and tart making it somewhat refreshing but not overly sour. Some slight wheat malt and yeast characters as well.

M: Very light body with high carbonation also help to make the beer refreshing.

O: Pretty good beer but not exactly my fancy. My first introduction to lambics but I feel as though it was not entirely like a lambic should be.

This pours a reddish, pink color with only a slight light pink head. The aroma is fairly strong and sweet with raspberries. The taste is sweet, smooth, and delicious. This makes for a great after dinner/desert beer. There’s plenty of other comparable raspberry lamics on the market so this is not an over-the-top amazing beer, but it is still pretty good.

Label lists: "artificial flavor, artificial sweetener, artificial color"... so what's left? Not lambic, that's for sure. Not sure why Mort Subite doesn't export their traditional Oude Gueuze & Kriek, they can keep this saccharine junk.

Nice scarlet tone from the artificial coloring, which must be also responsible for the pink foam. Highly charged with co2, the cork pops with a bang and a wisp of gunsmoke. Copious clumps of lace in the glass almost redeems it.

Artificially sweet raspberry, floral like a raspberry soap at grandma's house.

Lightly tart and vaguely oxidized, some bland papery malt. Middle is sweet like raspberry candy, verging on cloying, but less so than Lindemans. Carbonation is spritzy. Sticky sweet on the lips. Fruit seems more like candy syrup than actual raspberries.

Overall this isn't terrible for an artificially sweetened & flavored lambic, but it's fake and that's the bottom line. Try a traditional lambic for something worlds better than this wannabe raspberry wine-cooler. Review #55 - Lambic-Fruit category.
