Dark chocolate coloured body with slightly off white head.

Aromas of cherry bakewell and roasted malts.

Nutty Almond tastes with hints of cgerry cola, the roast flavours are there but much more subdued than the average.

Mellow but thirst quenching hoppy aftertaste all wrapped up in a nicely served cask ale from the Fab Cafe in Manchester

Hand pulled pint into a UK sleeve during a beer festival at ‘The Crown Inn, Oakengates, one of 34 cask ales on hand pulls.

Deep, deep ruby red, with a good tan coloured crown of tightly bubbled foam.

Roasted malts, rolled in a peat bog, with a melted chocolate bar sort of smell.

This beer used to make my bottom ‘report’ in the old days when I had buckets of it, this time I only had the one. Rich and creamy for a dark mild, but only in taste, the body feel was fairly thin or ‘watery’, it is after all only 3.8%ABV.

I like it, it may have very little in the way of hops or body strength, but it is very easy to drink and a fine example of the style.

On cask at the GBBF.

Pours ruby-chocolate with a ring of porter foam that leaves trailers. Nose is kola, mint, soap and cinnamon. Black forest cake malts with slight bark followed by tobacco and tea leaf hops. Soft, light, slight cling.

Yet another take on this style, with much more porter-like character.
The variety in milds is becoming a source of fascination.

Pint at Wetherspoons in Victoria Station. Perfect with a bacon sandwich.

Half pint at 'spoons Crystal Plaace in Glasgow: peaty colour with an offwhite head. It has a generic cereal nose (generic in the sense of smellinga fair bit like a lot of cereals without smelling exactly like any of them). It has a sweet start with hints of toffee, figs and raisins then more of a cereal finish. It tasted increasingly fruity the more I drank. Good stuff and worthy of the appellation strong despite the standard ABV for a mild.
