Poured from a 22oz bottle into a mug glass.

A: The beer is a light yellow color, with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is faint but contains grain, light caramelized malts and a faint touch of hops.

T: The taste starts out bready with the flavor of grain and hearty but not heavy malt character, which transitions into a mild malt sweetness. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings some balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, decent representation of style, there are certainly several other beers in the style that I would choose first.

22 ounce bomber poured into a pint glass. Pours cloudy hazy pale yellow. Thick heavy white foam. Over an inch before settling. Citrussy nose, and floral. Taste is a clean crisp soft fruity malt, with a slight peppery buzz. Good firm flavor, very full. A bitter holds beyond.

I really liked this, more than others on the site so far. Admittedly, this wasn't the best Kolsch example I've had, but the beer itself tasted really nice.

On tap at the brewpub.
Comes to the table a lightly hazy gold with a smallish white head that persists. Nice sweet bready pilsner malt nose with a hint of honey and floral spicy hops. The flavor is a touch on the sweet side with an almost under attenuated quality to it. Sweet honey caramel and pilsner malt with a touch of spicy hop and a hint of diacytyl. Light to medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet bubbly mouthfeel. Its a touch sweet, but I could get behind a few of these.

Pours cloudy yellow with a huge billowy white head. Gobs of lace cling to the glass as you sip. Very pretty beer.

Where is my grape vine? Maybe a hint, but I was looking for it. If I didn't know this was Kolsch, I'd never find it. Some minerals and grassy notes.

Grassy malt and some mineral flavors. Not big bitter, but a layer that gets in the way. Beer dries out a bit, goes to grass and some bready flavors. Finishes with some medium bitter flavors.

Lighter bodied, smooth with nice carbonation.

Not bad, and just ok for style. Decent drinkability. A touch out of balance.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a stemmed goblet.

Appearance: light golden hue with a light haze and a strong, refreshing-looking effervescence. Head poured a finger of frothy, fizzy white foam, which subsided pretty quickly. Love the body, but the head is disappointing.

Smell: light in intensity with a sweet orchard-like fruitiness and rather a lot of yeasty quality. It smells refreshing, but a bit muddled.

Taste: some pear and apple flavors, but quite yeasty and with quite a bit of unbalanced hoppiness. The finish is too harsh and bitter for the style, and altogether it's not very clean. Kind of disappointing.

Mouthfeel: light body with a pretty big and satisfying carbonation. I just wish that this beer had a flavor which matched this great creaminess.

Overall: this is a messy, ill-crafted beer, although it is not abjectly horrible. But, no, I don't recommend it.

very light fizzy head barely covers the beer, crystal clear golden straw colored beer.

Nose nice pilsner malts, straw, toasted wheat like, grainy malt, little wet hay, slight hints of grassy hops, a light soft crisp base.

Taste starts again with the pilsner malts, straw, toasted wheat like, grainy but not really bready or doughy. Hops kick in quickly, a big grassy noble hop style that gets slightly spicy as it goes. A nice soft juicy malt base with all that, that gets a little crisp. Finish is fairly dry and crisp, big spicy grassy hop flavor that gets quite bitter and wants to be astringent but not quite, and even chewy hop like, little grainy straw malt.

Mouth is med to lighter bodied, soft feeling, decent carb.

Overall pretty good, a nice kolsch like straw pilsner malt, toasty, good noble hop balance with an American hop bitterness and spicy quality, crisp and fairly tasty, just a bit too bitter and hoppy overall for a kolsch, but still enjoyable.

New off-the-shelf local.

Pale to medium yellow pour with minimal white head.
Nondescript aroma, pale malts and a touch of corn.
Follows aroma. Not as crisp as a true German kolsch.
Mouthfeel is a touch flat. Would like a few more bubbles.
Would not seek out again, but no true errors.
