Great selection indeed. Now carries SixPoint brews!

Great wine and beer selections. Staff seems pretty focused on wine but the beer selection is great. This includes both shelves and coolers. A place if you want Stone, He'Brew, Alagash, Dogfish, SixPoint, NE Brewing, Element, plus a huge selection of euros.

Happy hunting!

Staff is courteous, but it looks like only late-teenage girls are allowed to run cashier... a little pricey as well.

Overall, this is worth becoming your regular if you live nearby, and if not, a place to stop to prepare for the right occasions.

By far, the best beer selection east of Hartford...if not in the greater Hartford area.
I've tried to find good craft beer selection, and for CT....they have pretty much everything that is available in the state.
Thank you. i'm lucky that is not to far from my home.

First off, what an outstanding beer store. A friend of mine (that isn't huge into beer) was kind enough to take a list of beers to this store to seek out a number of brews that I can't get in the Midwest. She handed the workers the list and they took care of the rest. They even remembered that Ten Fidy was on the list and gave us a call when they got it in a couple days later.

Polite and diligent each time I spoke with them on the phone, and my friends have nothing but good things to say when they go in. You won't finder a store with better service.

Selection, as far as I can tell, is solid too. I was able to find, Oskar Blues, Capt Lawrence, Maine, NEBCO, Victory, Brooklyn, and many others. They also have a nice selection of single beers which is nice for out of towners like me that has to take travel space into account. It allows me to try a wider variety of great beers I can't get at home.

I highly suggest this place if you are in the area and looking for a good beer store.

I love this place. Not only is it very close to home but it has an unreal selection of beers. Management is a group of connoisseurs that can help direct any pallet. I will be heading there right after work! Love this place, Best selection in CT! If your ever in Manchester, check them out!

Consistently the best variety and best access to limited release I've found in the area. If Connecticut didn't suck, I'd get a 5 on selection, but there is no such thing in this state. Jimmy is a really good beer guy (and his brother is an equally good wine guy if you're so inclined). Definitely worth getting on their email list because they do a nice job of updating when interesting stuff comes in. They have a great range of stuff from obscure imports to pretty much any/all American craft brews distributed in the state. If Jimmy's not there, it can sometimes be spotty to get useful staff help, but he's getting a few of his guys up to speed better.
Their liquor selection is also really good, but their pricing on it skews high pretty consistently.

Been there every month for the past two years. Luckily I live a few towns away.Absolutely the best selection in CT. There may be better selections in the Boston area, but no one is even close in CT
Knowledgeable staff, will to special order and hold items. The best part is they promote selling singles. I usually mix 2 or 3 six packs. Great selection of bombers, and imports. Everything brewed in CT is sold here. They also have an email membership club, just ask the cashier to sign you up.

Convenient, close to I84 and Buckland Hills Mall.

Have been trying to locate the Highland Wild offering from Old Burnside for the past few weeks so I called these folks up. They had it and they told me who to ask for. When I got there I asked for the individual and what I was looking for, not sure if he was there but I had a staff run to get it. I was also looking for a new release by Sebago, bang off again to get what I wanted. Great Store....It is about 50 miles from where I live...will I be back?....oh yeah!

I am mostly an American Craft guy but they seemed to have an awesome Belgian collection.

I freaking love this place. It's been said to death, but they really DO try and have every beer available in CT in their store. If they don't have it and can order it, they will. They also have a very good selection of wines and liquors.

The prices are pretty much the same as all of the other stores I've been too. If anything, sliiiightly cheaper.

I never really got any customer service. About half the time I go there, I get asked if I need any help. If you do ask for help, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

The thing, in my mind, that makes this store the best I've ever been to is their "Mix A Six" program. In the back left corner of the store there is a rack of singles and empty cardboard six-packs. The rack itself has about 10 shelves about a yard wide, all stuffed with beer.

BUT WAIT! There's more! Contrary to what other reviewers have said, the Mix A Six program DOES apply to every. single. 12oz beer in the store that can be found in a six-pack (I'm not so sure about the 4-packs). You just take a bottle or two out of any six-pack in the store, whether it's full or not, coolers or shelves, and put it into your container. It's amazing. I was skeptical when another customer at the store told me I could do that, so I asked one of the employees. Much to my amazement, he confirmed the customer's story! It's one thing to have a huge selection, but letting people just buy a single bottle is incredible.

The only thing they ask is you don't take bottles if you have to rip/tear/bend cardboard to get them out (some companies secure the bottles with cardboard around the necks as well). And this promotion only applies to 12oz beers, obviously.
There seems to be a small premium associated with this program.

It says that they just divide the cost of the original six-pack by six to get the price per bottle, but it seems to be a little more. Sam Adams Double Bock is $2.50 a bottle, Sam Adams Blackberry Witbier is $1.50 a bottle, Southern Tier IPA is $1.50 a bottle, Rogue Mocha Porter is $2.33 a bottle, Long Trail Double Bag is $1.55... you get the idea.

They're about 10% more than buying the six-pack regularly, but it's definitely worth the price if you wanna try some new beers. The selection is so large you'll have a hard time finding something you don't want.

You also don't have to buy a full six-pack, you could just buy one or two bottles.

The only downside to having all these beers and selection, as was noted in other reviews, is that there can be some that are really, really old. I've accidentally bought some six-packs that had expired a few weeks earlier, and some bottles from the Mix-A-Six rack that were "born" over a year earlier. Now, that may not be so bad if they were stored in a cool, dark place; but a good amount of the beers are sitting out on shelves without any sort of protection.

Even thought that complaint was pretty long, it isn't a huge deal. Just be sure to watch out for the expiration dates and don't pick up bottles that are really dusty.

You could probably avoid the age issues by taking all of your bottles from six-packs on the shelves and coolers, but there are a few on the Mix-A-Six rack that aren't available in six-packs, and I just feel kinda sleazy for making them go hunt down six different six-packs that have a beer missing.

Overall, this store is incredible. It's a little out of the way on my commute home from Hartford to East Glastonbury, but it's well worth it.

This place is undoubtedly the best selection of beer I've ever seen. I live in Glastonbury, so I generally shop at a smaller place, Sonoma Wines & Spirits. Manchester Wine, however, seems to have every beer I've ever seen in the northeast.

If Sonoma Wines can't get something for me (I was looking for Samiclaus), Manchester Wines is my next stop. One day I was shopping around and they had a beer salesman there doing an order. He chatted me up for a few minutes...

He told me that Manchester Wines has a very simple philosophy, have ever beer available. Which explains a lot. They really do have every beer available in CT, (so no Pliny or Yuengling), but some of their stuff can get a little aged. Sure, sometimes that's a good thing. But belgian-style pale ales, in twelve ounce bottles, just sitting on the shelves? Not so sure that stuff is meant to age like the barleywines.

In any case, I definitely recommend this store. Easily one of my favorite stores I've ever been to. If you want more personal service, and special orders, there are better stores around for that. But, if you know what you want and can't find it anywhere else, Manchester is a good place to check out.

Props to CTSparky for showing me this trove of hoppy goodness.

These guys have it all... and then some. I've seen in these posts that this may be the best in CT. Good thing I don't have to find anywhere else in the state. Tons of varieties, including the rare local fare. Selection is second to none; if they can get it in the state they will have it.

Prices are fair, and when I'm done hauling my bottles of yummy beer to the register I don't feel guilty.

Worth it when on the prowl for that odd beer, or to look for new and rare types.

stopped through on the trip south from Canada

huge selection of beer, heavy regional representation, including growlers from Old Burnside and Berkshire, what looks like most of the Berkshire line in bombers, various stuff from Hooker, a few from Captain Lawrence, and much much more, of course there's the more widely distributed stuff as well as a big area of foreign stuff that I gave only a quick look, the back wall of coolers and a full aisle on the left side of the massive store are loaded with beer

the fellow who approached me in the beer section made an attempt to be helpful but was a little behind the curve, I was looking specifically for local and regional stuff and while he was able to offer some help with brands he could offer little advice about specific beers, almost choked when he listed Redhook as a local but apparently they do brew in New Hampshire

This is the best beer store in CT. They have a really good import selection. The German beers are in the cooler in the far right. Belgians are on wine racks to the left of the store. There is also a better than average selection of European and Asian beers. I'm impressed with the import selection here.

Most of the six pack stuff can be found in coolers in the back. I've been here a lot and have had good luck with freshness. You can mix your own six pack, and there are more beers on the shelving. I don't think there is any place in CT that has more beers than here. They also have an impressive selection of kegs available, with some of the bigger craft breweries as well as some local stuff from Berkshire and Hooker.

There isn't much to say about the service here. I've only talked to store employees at check out, which is typical of a large liquor store. I am on the e-mail list here, which keeps me updated on the newest releases. Overall, this is a great store that I go slightly out of my way for if I'm passing by Manchester on I84.
